I think that Our mutual friend is the best dickens I've read. To me Dickens is a constant reminder of the world around me as I work in London in the area he wrote about most - I work opposite the 3 cripples (now the One tun) and just 50 metres from Bleeding Heart yard and for me to explore these areas after having read his stories make them even more interesting.

For me, it has to be Tale of Two Cities. The beginning just sucks you straight in and the sinister clicking of Madame Dufarge's knitting needles is something worthy of Hitchcock!

In case of a tie, I usually flip a coin, like Night above said. We haven't had a three-way tie so far but if we do, I might draw cards or something!

I don't mind re-reading David Copperfield either; it was one of my favorite books while growing up... Can't remember how many times I have read it.

I am thinking about voting with good intentions. I would hope that if I vote I could participate...you guys are pushing me towards David Copperfield.

Bleak house!!!!!!! I want to read it and the watch the tv series so I can throw things at the creen and go NO! what are you doing youve spoilt the book.
Im saving my vote but at this rate Ill be voting hard times I havent read it an its short
Me too! I want to read the Bleak House because number one: I like the sound of the title--Bleak House--isn't it cool?

Because number two: I have already read Hard Times, Nicholas Nickleby, A Tale of Two Cities; and I have tried to read Oliver Twist too, but it was the one which I found very boring.

    Hi Nossa, welcome to litnet!

I don't have the poll closed for me. It can't happen before the start of October. It has something to do with your post count, I guess. A member less than 200 posts (or was it 100?) can not vote. But of course, you can take part in the discussion and read books with us.

Why ... I cannot vote! Is it because I posted less than 50 messages?

Anyways: Lets read Pickwick papers - I have already read David Copper - I have seen Great Expectation on TV far too many times and Hard Times is just not funny. Lets read Pickwick papers.
