Ethel Lillian Voynich and her Gadfly

Ethel Lillian Voynich (1864-1960) was born in Ireland. Her most popular book is Gadfly- a story of a young Italian revolutionary. It was extremely popular in USSR and still is in Russia. When I mentioned Voynich to my college literature professor (who is English), he hasn't even heard about her and he certainly was an extremely well educated guy. So have any of you guys read Gadfly and if so what do you think about it?

This book has been sitting on my book shelf for over three years now (given to me by someone else) and for one reason or another, I haven't even opened the cover of it. I think your post is the final push.

I will read it before the end of May and post my thoughts here.
