Thank you, Dreamwoven! Good to be here.
Hi, everyone. My name is Sam, and I am an A-level student hoping to become a known writer in due course (no rush) . It's great to hear all these different points of view and I'm looking forward to participating too. For now I am not as well read as I'd like to be (are any of us?) but I will keep reading. Also, I've noticed my overuse of parenthesis in this introduction mais c'est la vie (oh well).
Good to be here.
Welcome Sam, and don't worry (too much) about excessive use of parentheses, which won't bother (many of) us and certainly not me (much). It's (truly) great to have you here. Enjoy yourself (within moral limits).![]()

Hello Sam. You can only learn by making mistakes. All of us do, (most of us anyway). Keep posting and you will keep improving. Sadly I don't come in as often as I would like to. It is great to see all the new ones coming in, and all the (older) ones welcoming them. Good luck Sam.

Hi all,
I'm looking for some new authors to read. I have varied tastes, I enjoy everything from translated Chekhov works to Stephen King to Agatha Christie.
The last "new" author I read was David Mitchell. I read Number nine dream which I found to be entertaining but a abrupt.
Any suggestions.........
You just have to follow your own taste in literature. Welcome, and good luck!
Burn the Stephen King?
Just kidding. I think Clopin likes Checkhov, so you two may have some interesting talks. I'd suggest Dostoyevski and Tolstoy if you haven't read them already. I was considering David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks but couldn't quite make myself buy it (it looks too much like Stephen King on acid). Welcome to the site in any case. What would you recommend?
Hello~ My name Is Missy, sometimes I go by Jack, I am a HUGE nerd for classical lit! I could spend hours pouring over my copies of The Grapes of Wrath, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Heart of Darkness and Ect. and Ect. I want to be an English professor someday, but not till I have had a chance to travel and satisfy my immense wander lust. I love to draw, sing and write. I enjoy video games, anime and manga. My favorite pastimes include swimming and volleyball. I love to discuss and debate (nicely). I write poetry and novels, along with one or two short stories. I am so bad at intros..... I just reall really really love classical lit. Mainly 1940's and earlier at this point, however there are totally some awesome contemporary writers.
Welcome to the site Missy/Jack/ClassicalLover. Literary nerds R us, so you should be right at home. It's nice to meet someone with such broad interests and enthusiasms. I look forward to conversing with you.
