there are aspects of college teaching and coaching that are just wonderful so im tempted to say that, but my goodness that temptation is relatively quickly destroyed by so many instances of problem students and administrators that too often make it stressful bordering on miserable.

I think a particular slice of teaching I experienced stands in contrast to what I wrote above---being a grad assistant and teaching classes while being a student at the same time.

I also worked cross-country and track & field camps for 7 summers and loved that...

oh wait---! I also worked in aquatics for years and apart from the aforementioned "administration", I absolutely loved teaching swimming to kids, water exercise to adults, and lifeguard training to high school and college students.

if you could write a book that would get published and become a best seller, what would be the nature of the book?

I guess saying a photo book would be cheating, but that's what it would be, with some related essays or poems attached.

    Same question.

boy of all the questions to not get answered on a literature forum again!!

i think id like a dystopian literature work...or alternatively, a love story told with some unique circumstances/fascinating perspectives.

if you could have a new physical talent (like singing, dancing, sculpting, painting, athleticism, musicianship, etc), what would it be?

    Alpine Skiing.
Being a Southern man, I can only ski well behind a boat. On the mountain I'm a snow-plowing freak, with the the 8-year olds.

Have you called your mother yet to invite her over for Christmas dinner?

if for a week you could only eat five foods (or small combinations of foods like a green salad, or macaroni and cheese), which five foods/small combos would you have?

Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, macaroni and cheese with tuna (ugh so good), cream cheese on everything bagels also grape jelly, mesquite chicken (substantial ish), aaaaaaannnd a salad with almonds and cranberries on it? That sounds healthy ish.

Hmmmmmmm what is the first song- apart from lullabies, hymns, etc.- you can remember ever listening to? Or maybe just an old song that you heard when you were young.. Doesn't have to be a classic.

hard to say exactly, but fond memories of sitting on a friend's porch in the summer, trading and playing with baseball cards, listening to wkbw out of buffalo and a few pop songs come to mind---billy don't be a hero, seasons in the sun and little willy. still when I hear those songs it takes me right back there.

My spirit animal is a mountain lion, or panther as they are known here in Southwest Virginia. That would be wonderful!
