I agree with Idril (not that I hike a lot) I don't like shoes that much and I hate, really hate socks! Don't wear them except at work cause I have to. I am always scanning the ground in front of me when I walk and I prefer bare feet. That being said, I am going to Brighton in 10 days and I have already ordered shoes I'm gonna try out and hopefully buy when I get there

Talking about shoes, I was working with a girl who has 72 pairs!!! I am planning on buying pair number 5, who need's over 70 shoes?

You shouldn't have any problem finding a place to get your trail shoes around DFW (or boots depending on the actual type of terrain you plan to trek)

You certainly won't find much good hiking here, either, if you stay long enough to try out your new shoes, I mean, boots.

ooo, I think I might pop out to the shops later .

72 pairs? Where does she store them all? I grant you, over the years, you tend to buy some for parties and things, and never wear them again because they're more uncomfortable than you thought or because they went wirh a particular outfit you can't wear every day. So, maybe at the end of my life I'll get to pair 72...

I usually have one or two pairs I wear every day, one pair of flat big ones for walks, one pair of boots for the winter (since that season about 10 years ago where I bought my very first pair of boots because they were the thing to have, my legs get cold) and a number of other things like sandals, high heels and things.

When we were in Prague last time I bought my first platform ones.
Humanic the shoe shop (they've got an online one as well, Austrian shop apparently). I had never seen a shop (and it was huge) where I could have bought so many many shoes. And usually I can't find anything to my taste.

The girl I was talking about is 23 years old and some of them are apparently very expensive, she named some designers but I don't know them so I forgot.

Doh! At the Dr.'s office I found a Vanity Fair from 2010 and there was an article about Christian Louboutin (the shoes with the red soles). All I can say is "ick". The whole article was bizarre and horrible, from a mother and daughter talking about running from the repo man in his shoes to Christian Louboutin talking about fathers wanting to screw their daughters.

Not sure the purpose of the article but it made me strongly dislike that whole scene.

Seriously. I dug up this post to talk about.....wait for it.......shoes. After reading the last few posts there is a bit of a possibility I may be obsessed.

I'm looking for comfortable, cute, sandals/walking shoes. I've scoured the internet and I don't think they exist. They either make me look like pontious pilate or my grandma. Any suggestions?

I got some of the nicest sandals I've ever owned from the Bass outlet store at the Outlet Mall in Allen. You can check online, too, also. Just be careful that you're putting in Bass store or shoes or whatever; my computer and is just positive that I want the BassPro store.
