High/epic/historical fantasy (no science fiction), anything Victorian/Steampunk/medieval based, alternate history, historical romance and fiction, anything about kings/queens/Tudors, anything involving a lot of mythical creatures, fables/fairytales/folklore/mythology, Victorian mysteries, British detective stories, Gothic horror, sea adventures/swashbuckling/nautical & nautical fantasy, parodies of classics, classics, poetry, History (non-fiction) and a genre called "fantasy of manners" Oh, and P.G. Wodehouse type comedy.

I love anything steampunk/Victorian, chess, TED talks, my kitten Peaches & Herb, National Geographic magazine, robotics, cream of broccoli soup, blooming jasmine tea, poetry, Blackadder, opera, ballet, and musical theatre, secondhand bookstores, trains, calligraphy, Gilbert & Sullivan, Stephen Fry, Mr. Bean, art history, playing my cello and reading the Sunday paper.

Sorry if this seems long winded. A pleasure to be in this new society of book lovers.
Welcome I hope that you`ll have a whale of time here.

    Greetings from Poland,

Hi! I'm a newbie. I am 24 and live in the UK. I am studying a creative writing degree online which I love. I mostly like fantasy and children's literature as well as classics and Shakespeare.
I am a vegan and love animals. I have a cocker spaniel. I also love the countryside and being around nature, crafts, writing, and sunflowers.
    Nice to meet you all.

Greetings and salutations one and all. I am a new forum member, and would like to take the opportunity to say hi (waves excitedly!) and introduce myself.

I am a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy prose, and of poetry in all its vast forms. I write poetry and prose, and like to think that I'm okay-ish at it. I tend to write for myself, and if anyone else likes it, that's a real thrill (and icing on the cake).

I am always trying to improve my writing skills, and I look forward to expanding my experience of literature here on this forum. I will write more later, once I've explored the nooks and crannies of this forum a bit more. Toodles.

ello ello from your friendly neighborhood Vmancanada. Joined today July 10th 2013, while listening to Ludivico Einaudi, if you dont know who he is then you should, check him out on youtube. So I haven't got much to say other than I will reveal more about myself here as I go along, mainly in my writing, any constructive criticism albeit suggested omissions or additions to my stories will be happily received. Take it easy, and write at least 15 minutes or may every day, it will keep your writing alive and vigorous, as they say if you don't use it you lose it......V

Hello everyone! I'm a 16-year-old living in London. I stumbled across one of the threads here when I was looking for inspiration for my English coursework, and though I am quite a regular forumgoer it rather surprised me to think, Ah, of course there are forums for booklovers too. So obviously the very next thing I had to do was register. Pleased to meet you all!

    Long time no write

    Hi
I haven't posted in a while because of long working hours in a new post. I've also been trying to learn a little Mandarin and Spanish. I would really love to write again. I keep thinking of a sentence but then I get distracted.
