    Existence derived from consciousness

    Upon an ontological sanctuary, a calamitous wave strikes;
    so pulchritudinous, so simple, the Euclidean shapes;
    analytic: harmonically the wave reasons beyond, briskly spikes.
    Symmetric in dimension, an Archimedean symphony.
    Pierces through deterministic foundations, augments linguistic rigor;
    solid for centuries, symbiotic with the divine, until its sudden decline;
    syntax, syntax, iterations lead to cognitive modification, willful vigor.
    A change occurred, alternating space and time, Euclid steadily deteriorates.
    The deluge swept off each and every trace, leaving behind an ambiguous race;
    Riemann in control, navigating the universe, proposed abstract thoughts;
    being and nothingness, its imperturbability shifted through space.
    Abstract so abstract, it reasons in knots, in-frangible knots.
    Once an impenetrable wave, revealed to be stochastic, the dominance is gone;
    dreaming of landscapes, a dream of thought, a holographic image it all was;
    the existence indeed, just derived from the consciousness of other beings.

    It's as though you dined on a dictionary and threw up a thesaurus.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.

    I think you are very mistaken. Euclid and Archimedes never went well with the mob. They are both stronger than ever where it counts and progress is being made in all branches of actual knowledge through them. Apart from that, if it is that you are lamenting the scoop driven by the mob, forget about it. It was and will always be that way.

    No, no.
    I was implying something else.

    pulchritudinous - now there's a word which doesn't really reflect its meaning...

    Darling! There's no doubt you're the most pulchritudinous woman here.

    If that doesn't earn you a slap across the face, I don't know what will!

    Obviously an exercise in writing the most unlyrical poem possible. I didn't get beyond the first four words.

    Not so much purple prose as erudition on steroids. I vote we should carry out drug tests for any future new posters on here.

    This may be a good philosophical poem, but I'm not really clever enough to understand it. I guess if I went through it with a dictionary and Wikipedia I might get it, but I'd rather not today. Attracted to its rhythm in parts, but it becomes a bit torturous for the mouth in other places.

    Well, all the odd numbered verses are about philosophy, and the even numbered about Math; verse 14&15 sum up the whole point of the poem.

    Thanks for pointing out which lines to read (in your eyes 14&15) and which ones to skip (i.e. the rest, which I gladly did).

    In my own & humble opinion, it's the lines 16&17 that sum it all up, though ;-)

    No problem, it's hard to keep up with your wit though.
    Do you have anything more to add Professor?
