I thought Russia had a chance to win the whole thing! But well done Greece, they were the best team in the 2nd 1/2

I it comes to Germany -Greece, Will the German's choose the Greek team and decide what's in their best interests, and will the Greeks re'use to take the penalties?

Both the Poles and the Russian must be in shock. But then all the possesion, shots on target and corners won statistics count or nothing.

England hae a tough job to do against Ukraine. Rooney might upset the little bit o cohesion the team has shown to date.

Today’s games are going to be cracking. I missed yesterday’s matches but I’ll try not to miss today.

Yes, they are set up like last night. We know who should go through, but they still have to turn up and do it.

Why do they slide like that? Doesn't it hurt their knees?

Bah. Missed 2 days. You're right. ?The matches are improving.

I'm glad Greece got through - we need some wild cards, though it would have been good if Poland had qualified. With all their talent, Holland were disappointing.

Curse you sheep that was rigged up the twenty acre and needed sorting out thus preventing me from putting 30 Drachma on Germany thus saving them from an ignominious defeat by Denmark.

Anyway 70 on Italy to win. Eer you're not supporting them are you Mark?

I have them in the office sweep so, yes, actually I am.

I'll be at the Albert Hall watching Tom Petty, though, so they may not suffer the full consequences of my enthusiasm.

As soon as I stopped betting on them, Greece finally got their game together.

We'd seen this before in the qualifying stages against Croatia and Israel -- very tight at the back with Samaras holding up the ball in midfield and spraying balls left and right, creating chances. Physically the squad is very strong, too.

I don't think we stand much of a chance against Germany, but it'll be interesting to see 65-kilo Sotiris Ninis battling against the much more imposing German midfield.

I enjoyed England against Sweden. I have a natural soft spot for the three lions, and am glad whenever they do well. Carrol is a great forward, a real presence in the box. And Theo looks in great form. Here's to them

So disappointed in Holland - not so much because they went out, but because they never looked as though they could avoid it.

Carrol will be dropped (for Rooney)and Walcott has a tight hamstring.
