Unbelievable game, but I though Alan Hanson chillingly summed it up when he called them two very average sides. We are going to struggle against Ukraine I feel and then get slaughtered against Spain, even if we get through. Still, we can hope.

Andy Carrol's header was sublime, I know he was unmarked and it was a good cross, but it was one o those Leni Riephenstahl moments when he leapt like a salmon and smacked the header into the top corner. The aesthetic quality almost oershadowed the sporting context. ( I hae become that Harry Enield ootball supporter.)
