If another thread like this exists, I have not seen, nor typed in it.

Probably Pride and Prejudice, but I also love Sense and Sensibility.

Though it sounds typical, I would probably choose Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice) or Elinor Dashwood (Sense and Sensibility), but I also always had a real love for Mary Bennet, despite not termed as a 'heroine.'

    Pride and Prejudice

    Fanny (Mansfield Park)

    Edward Ferrars (Sense and Sensibility)

Lady Catherine De Burgh (P+P) - perhaps not traditionally a villain, but descends to that in her attempt to break up lizzy and darcy. I love her character, she's so ridiculously pompous, impertinent and rude, thinking it is her right to say what she likes, ask what she likes and do what she likes because of her rank. Her views on music always make me laugh.
This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with force.

Favourite book - Pride and Prejudice (though Northanger Abbey was a good read too)
Favourite heroine - definitely Elizabeth Bennet...as Jane Austen herself said, "the most delightful creature ever to appear in print"
Favourite hero - Mr Darcy without a doubt (and when I say that I'm thinking Colin Firth's Mr Darcy....I always imagined he'd look that way, even before seeing the BBC miniseries)
Favourite villain - Willoughby from Sense and Sensibility. Wickham comes close, but I met Willoughby first...when I read Pride and Prejudice for the first time I "knew Wickham would turn out to be a Willoughby"

P.S. Perhaps we could also have a favourite...er...um...how would I put it....er...a favourite Mr Collins award?

You mean like a Favorite Silly Austen Character award? (Or something of the sort. :-))
Hi all! I'm new, but I thought I would join in the fun.

Favorite book: Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice
    Favorite heroine/female protagonist: Elizabeth Bennet
Favorite hero/male protagonist: (er, is it okay to have five???) Capt. Wentworth (Persuasion), Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mr. Knightley, Edmund (in Mansfield Park...oh, what's his last name?), Edward Ferrars.
Favorite villain/antagonist: Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

I would give that award to Mr. John Thorpe of Northanger Abbey

    Favorite Book: Pride and Prejudice
Heroine : Elizabeth Bennet (I guess - I haven't read all her novels yet, but so far, I like her the best)
Hero: Mr. Darcy (that's for sure )
    Villain: I don't know...I can't bring myself have a favorite among them

Fav book - Persuasion, followed very closely by Emma
Fav heroine - Anne Elliot (Persuasion)
Fav hero - Mr. Knightley (Emma)
Fav villain - Lady Susan (Lady Susan), hated the book because the her daughter pissed me off. What an annoying little brat. Loved Lady Susan though.
Fav silly character - Mr. Collins (Pride and Prejudice), I can't count the number of times he has made me laugh
