Talking Romeo and Juliet character flaws

Okay, so our English essay/test is coming up, and one of the topics that we have to choose from and research are the flaws of the main characters in Shakespeare's tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. We have to basically point out their flaws as people, their responsibility for the tragedy, and how much they're really responsible for. So far, our class has only barely finished the three required characters: Friar Lawrence, Nurse, and Capulet and L. Capulet (the pair counts as one).

Help on the other characters please (excluding Romeo and Juliet)? It would be appreciated.

"In my opinion, one of the flaws these characters, especially Romeo, ignored their gut instinct. The night he meets Juliet, Romeo has a feeling of uneasiness, and predicts the tragedy that is about to be set into motion. However, he ignores this feeling and falls headlong into an affair with Juliet even after he discovers that she is his enemy’s daughter. I found the appropriate quote from Romeo and Juliet on Shmoop so you can refer to them:

I fear, too early: for my mind misgives
Some consequence yet hanging in the stars
Shall bitterly begin his fearful date
With this night's revels and expire the term
Of a despised life closed in my breast
By some vile forfeit of untimely death.

Mercutio is another character that should be considered. He is always joking around, but he also acts without thinking, such as when he insists on a duel. It is this character's outburst that helps bring about the tragedy.

Which characters do you think are important? Mercutio has already been mentioned - are there any other characters who play important roles in moving the plot forward?
