But rather, what is more likely, people are not creatures of black and white and it's possible to have two conflicting thoughts at the same time. I'm pretty sure some fairly big-name philosopher even made a point about something like this.

But for me, I need to feel that there's some merit to the opposing side, even if it's not what I personally believe in.
There's no need for people to ramble just to hear the sound of their own voice.
