Beau, I wouldn't know how to define what you do. I think you are an admirable artist. Every time you try something new it feels like you are getting even better, if such a thing is possible. If you don't mind, I'd like to use some of your sketches as models and see if I can remotely imitate them Of course without taking credit.

Thank you so much for the compliment Max! Of course you can. I don't mind. I just wanna see your final product.

That's quite an interesting exercise Beautifull Bella I like the sketchy roughness to them. I'm intrigued to see what you come up with next (Remember the devil's in the details - just give those eyes a realistic sheen and glint and the faces will come alive like magic

Thank you so much Mystyr! I guess that's what most people like about my style is the roughness. And details are fun, especially the shading. I just took this exercise as a simple one. Maybe I'll add detail in the future. Who knows.

    Here's day 06(I'm reeeeeaaaaally behind!)

I did this in a few hours and it may not look very artistic, but it came out as an intention to cheer up a friend who is considering to give up her cello lessons:

I like the talking cello. If I were Paula, I would smile as soon as I saw this. Great job Maxey!

    Here's day 07

Does it look really weird? I was planning to make an animation out of it, but I suppose that would make it look even weirder and it would take an amount of time I actually lack at the moment On the other hand, I'm interested in seeing whatever comes out of it, if I ever have the time to try a talking cello animation

    Beau's day 07:

Max, are you asking if it 'really looks weird' you mean? I didn't say it looks 'really weird', I said interesting weird. But I'd like to see an anime version... a weird anime version... yeah...

Hey Beau! Looking good. Like 'em!

Oh, it's okay. I was just wondering because I've done some other weird things which I haven't posted so far... on second thought, I can't remember which ones I still have, but I do remember I erased a few out of not being satisfied Then again, I keep some pieces that now seem pointless and I dunno what to do with them

Max, it looks fine. You did a great job.

And I think you guys are just saying that to say that. I didn't really like Day 07. It doesn't look right to me. But all I can say is "Oh well, I just gotta keep going. If I don't like that one, then I might as well quit complaining and make the next one better. One of my favorite favorite sayings is "No use crying over spilled milk." Gotta keep going.

And how did a simple declaration of my dislike turn into an optimistic speech?

Here are a few simple sketches I've worked on also...practicing as much as I can with my pen and tablet.

    I'm Wishing

Maybe I'll get around to putting color, and maybe I'll just leave them alone. depends on whether I ever want to . Right now, they're staying rough sketches.

    I wasn't being condescending when I said I liked Day 07
I DO LIKE IT, as I like all the other sketches too, including the last ones
I'm incapable of anything remotely similar

Sometimes we tend to do it when we need to make it through a harsh moment. It's a survival mechanism, I think

Hey Max, You have your style which is soooo cool and I cannot reproduce, and I have mine. We all have our own styles don't think of it being a bad thing. It just means awesome variety! I always enjoy seeing your work.
And look at Mystyr, he does awesome things that I'd only dream of doing(because I don't have that kind of patience)

We're deemed to be different. It's in our nature.

Probably...yeah, that has to be it.
