A Single Man with Colin Firth.
Good movie, Tom Ford's first work as a director. Stylistic. Thumbs up.

Thank you, OrphanPip.I knew it was a "good" B movie. My remark was supposed to mean that I was enjoying a guilty pleasure.
I have seen The Professional and Nikita (the latter to long ago to really have more than a hazy memory of it,which is silenced by my more recent viewing of the American version with Bridgit Fonda); and let's not forget The Fifth Element!

I watched Bullet Proof Monk last night. It has the usual hokum of a Tibetan Buddhist Monk trained in martial arts and saving the world. It was nice to hear a few lines of Buddhist wisdom in the film between the fight scenes. he fight scenes were good too. 6/10
I went to my local movie theatre and saw "The Help" I had great trouble (being an aussie) understanding the Southern accent, for me subtitles would have been great.
We saw "The Help" about a week ago. I enloyed it. However, that is not that last movie I watched.
My son and I watched "Fury of the Wolfman", one of three "Serial Chillers" on DVD.

.
"London Boulevard" was good, starring Colin Farrell.
Rise of the planet of the apes - it was awesome! i loved it, Serkis is really good (when you can't see his face) and people suck.

I have pass by English Exam.
Watchmen is still my favorite comic book movie adaptation, even above The Dark Knight.
Agreed, the remake was crap.
I just saw Drive. It was absolutely horrible. Everyone else seems to just think its brilliant. It came off to me as a director trying to do what The Coen brothers did with No Country for Old Men and completely failing. 2/10.
I watched "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Remember His Past Lives" last week. It is a Thai film with Buddhist themes which meant that there were lots of lingering shots and very little action. It was quite a wierd film, but interesting in its way, though I'm sure some of it was lost in translation, or there were cultural references I just didn't get. 5/10
I just watched 'Midnight in Paris' and loved it, I have to say Owen Wilson surprised me. I was constantly reminded of a short story by Woody Allen I read years ago it wasn't the same but had a similar tone about it.
It's probably in my top 15 Allen movies...

Contagion. Good, not great. Standout performance by the always terrific Jennifer Ehle. No single storyline works well enough, together they keep your attention and build an evocative enough fabric while the movie lasts. In retro, the whole proves no greater than the sum of its parts.
Sonbahar - A Turkish movie 'Autumn'. 9/10. Beautiful picturisation and a powerful tragic ending.
I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew.
Marie Antoinette by Sofia Coppola, really good I loved the music very unusual for a film like this. Sofia Coppola has made some great movies and this one is very good. I would have liked to see the king more though, maybe that is just because i love Jason Schwartzman.
