    Thanks for that, Jay!

In the present instance, going back to the liver-pill circular, I had the symptoms, beyond all mistake, the chief among them being "a general disinclination to work of any kind."
I think I, too, need some of these liver-pills as I am displaying similar symptoms!

And Montmorency is a dog??? This I really did not expect!
When first he came to live at my expense, I never thought I should be able to get him to stop long. I used to sit down and look at him, as he sat on the rug and looked up at me, and think: "Oh, that dog will never live. He will be snatched up to the bright skies in a chariot, that is what will happen to him."
I have read only three chapters but I am enjoying the Boat a lot! It has that humourous nonchalant British attitude towards life which is lost now... unfortunately. Reminds me of Wilde in some aspects.

Do we know how old these chaps are?

Finished Boat and started on Bummel.

Really enjoyed the Boat; even though it seems like a simple account of 3 guys' boat journey, Jerome is very cleverly integrating a humourous and critical view of everything English and human nature in general. There are so many passages I kept re-reading and reading aloud to people around me.

I have read only one chapter from the Bummel but somehow I am not liking it as much. Feels a little forced somehow, which is natural for a sequel maybe.

    ********BUMMEL SPOILER*********

I was curious about their ages but since in this book they are married and have families, in the Boat they were in their early 20s maybe?
