    Happy Birthday!

    An interview with Daniel:

*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
Because I wish to re-establish myself as master of the universe.

*Are you sure you want to do this?*
    Unless it involves pliers…

    *Who killed Roger Rabbit?*
    The coward Robert Ford.

*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n92ATE3IgIs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0h5nVrmypog

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbSKzZXsnko

*Are you male or female? *
Let me check… .oh it’s still there.

*What makes you keep coming back to the Forum?*
Wonderful people. I must also apologize to anyone who’s been wondering where I am. Been busy as hell, will try coming back again.

*Are you happy with the way things are here?*
Of course, though I do think that it would be most appropriate if we began addressing Scheherzade as “Dear Leader” and that the mods form a secret lit-net police in order to exterminate dissenters.

*What was the inspiration for your LitNet username?*
My mom gave it to me.

    *Which countries have you visited?*
    The U.S. and Canada.

*How do you like your home town?*
    I’m a nomad, I have none.

*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?*
France or any of the beautiful Scandinavian countries.

    *Do you have any pets?*
    I have a Mariposa.

    *What makes you happy?*
Still trying to figure that out.

*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
We should never become too comfortable with our beliefs.

*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
I wouldn’t want a movie based on my life.

    Who is your favourite Beatle?
    John.

*How do you like your coffee? *
Either as a straight up shot or with an ideal amount of cream. I’m quite compulsive about how I prepare my coffee. I measure the exact amount of cream and everything.

*What makes you feel great about yourself?*
    Productivity and people.

    *Who inspires you most?*
    My muse.

*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
    Being overly self-conscious.

*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
To do something that doesn’t feel like nothing.

    *Is there a selfless act?*
To act selflessly is like seeing without eyes.

*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
    To learn to be content.

*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
    I regret being alone.

*If you were to be stuck at a particular time in your life, which one would you choose and why?*
    Childhood.

*Do you get tired living life?*
    Every day.

*Do you have a tasty recipe for life that you could share for a reasonable price? … Is it REALLY tasty?*
    Oh hell yeah:

(Recipe lifted from AllRecipes, but I use it all the time)

    Greatest Smoothie of all Time:

    Yields Two Servings

    1 cup of frozen strawberries

    1 cup of sliced pineapple

    1 cup of milk

    1 cup of yogurt

    (seeing a pattern here?)

    2 teaspoons of honey

Also, if you want to make a great drink they make in France called a Caffe Noisette:

    One shot of espresso

    1 1/2 teaspoons of cream

This is heavenly stuff. And remember, the measurements mean everything.

*What method do you cherish above all others, as means to improving your life?*
    Still working on that.

*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn’t have to worry over food and water? *
Books and ways to watch movies. But if I really must limit myself I would ask for only two things: The Complete Works of Shakespeare and Tati’s Playtime in order to remember who we are.

*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?*
I would create a cult of personality.

*What’s the stupidest forum argument you’ve ever had?*
Probably whatever one in which I came out looking stupid, which is often.

*What song is in your head at the moment?*
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nhmme...el_video_title

*Which book are you reading at the moment?*
    William Blake’s Four Zoas

    *What is your favourite quote?*
    At the moment:

“The image, alone capable of denying nothingness, is also the gaze of nothingness upon us.” - Jean-Luc Godard

“That for which we find words is something already dead in our hearts. There is always a kind of contempt in the act of speaking.” - Nietzshce

those and the Dickinson quote in my sig.

    *Favorite avatar on the Forum?*
    Hmmm, probably Bibliophiles’.

*What is your answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?*?
There is no answer, be content with it.

*What are you wearing at the moment?*
    A sweatshirt and pants.

    *Favorite poem?*
Short poem: Impossible to say, I’ll just throw out some titles; The Tunnel by Hart Crane, ”The tint I cannot take is best” by Emily Dickinson, The Second Coming by Yeats, Sonnet 66 by Shakespeare. These are almost random, there’s just too many.

Long Poem: The Divine Comedy for sure.

*First novel you remember reading on your own?*
Probably some Hardy Boys detective novel when I was six or seven.

*What era do you find most of the books you read are from?*
Recently it’s mostly been Renaissance poets from Spenser to Marvell.

    *Favorite TV shows?*
    Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

*Which Forum members would you like to meet in person?*
    You know who you are

*Last words you said out loud?*
    “Bye.”

    *Last person you hugged/kissed?*
    My baby niece.

*Would you rather be an educated fool or an ignorant fool?*
People only listen to fools with diplomas, everyone ignores an unofficial fool.

*What is your most outstanding feature?*
Physically? Nothing that you can publically see.

*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
Nothing really, I’d rather not have dashing good looks.

*Which book do you wish you had written?*
Gravity’s Rainbow, that bastard Pynchon stole it from me.

*What book would you recommend to others of all types and ages as a must read?*
    Ecclesiastes.

*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
    Work.

    *Describe your ideal day, please.*
A day in which I feel content with my existence.

    *Favorite movie?*
2001: A Space Odyssey, 8 1/2, The Third Man, Tokyo Story, Playtime, Sansho the Bailiff, La Region Centrale, Singin’ in the Rain, Ikiru, The House is Black.

    *Last movie you watched?
Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock. I usually don’t get creeped out very easily, but that film really creeped me out. Though that probably has to do with the fact that I was watching it at like 1 am.

    *Favorite painting?*
    Vermeer’s Milkmaid

    Bruegel’s Hunters in the Snow

    Magritte’s Empire of Light

As with the poems, these are almost arbritrary choices. I would have to spend hours making a perfect collection of my favorites.

    Bowie, yay or nay?
Sorry OrphanPip but I just don’t get the hype

    *Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?*
    Batman makes better films.

*Something you want to forget but you never can?*
I want to be able to forget everything so that I can live in the present. The ghost which always haunts us is our memories.

If you could relive one moment in your life whenever you wanted to, what would it be?
The moment of the revelation of self-consciousness.

What is the best thing that happened to you since your last birthday?
I read some great books, watched some great movies and had some great conversations.

*If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?*
A message asking for an invitation.

Tell us something scandalous about yourself.
    I’m not that very interesting.

*How long did it take you to answer all of these questions?*
    About half an hour, idk.

    *When will you pay Whifflingpin?*
    When I get the money.

*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
A brief suspension of all thought is a great relief.

Happy 18th Birthday, Daniel! I will read your interview tomorrow. Looks interesting. I love those paintings, too. Did you see "The Girl With the Pearl Earring" film? I thought it was quite good.

Wow, time flies. It's my frickin' birthday tomorrow, I didn't realize it until I saw this thread. Welcome to adulthood, my friend. It's a lot like childhood, except with more drinking.
