well Im home for a dentsit appointment _Ive manged to spend 50 pounds on travel in 3 days. Had to go miles away to a studnt confrence but it was really really interesting and I started telling people to come visit us here:rolleyes: and on thet note I need to go to my dentist appointment.
what's a student conference, Night?
in case anyone cares to know: I managed to leave the radio on (news station) last night and slept like a log from 11 to 5 anyway! When I woke up at 5, I switched it off though.
hello...
how are you all? I really miss all of you.
Hi Miss T. I hope you and your family are doing better. I know it's hard.
yes,it's just hard but this is how life goes, I took a leave from my work to spend some days with my sister. She's okay now especially that all the family around her.
hello:wave:
It was like this meeting/confrence thing where all these speakers came and told us all the FABOULOUS things other than tradional libraries you can do with a librarianship degree...the oonly bad thing is it got me all fired up and enthusiastic but I have to wait 3 years before I can do anything about it.:(
hehe, I've so been there, Night :)
if it's any help: my course takes around 5 and a half years (NOT including my year abroad)
oh well I definatly couldnt live with that.....:eek2:
yeah, the other day a friend and me were saying we'll be burned out even before we become teachers, how can they expect us to be young and full of energy if they keep us in school till we're 27 and drain all our energy with their endless exams?
so, what fabulous things can you do with a librarianship degree?
well anything I like really Ive had to write a report and the report is rubbish I cant write acadmically about somthing I am SOO enthusiastic about it comes out stilted oh well.
lets see oh yes a quotebut its more than that in theory this means that I can do somthing to 'actually help people' like work providing and facilitating ( thats my word for today the vital flow of information for somthing really worth while like oh I dont know hospitals or WHO or the red cross or any other amazing institution... I might even convince the un/eu to hire meQuote:

ok I suppose I earned that......
I'm at the student computer centre of the Geology department (for a Geography project) and the cleaner locked us in! she didn't even poke her head inside the room to check if somebody was there!
now I'm stuck in here with 3 other guys from the course. The windows are barred and the building is locked! great. we've phoned a professor but he's visiting his aunt and will only be back later, according to his wife. lovely.
we've phoned the prof's wife again and she said he's on his way. too bad, it would have made a better adventure story if we had to stay overnight
oh wow do you have torches and choclate??oh and string
hummmm:lol:
we've got internet access and a loo (including drinking water from the tap) but no food. my friend and me had dinner before we came here but the two guys haven't eaten since lunch time
Sheesh, Sleepy. I hope that cleaning person has something said to her for doing that. But it does sort of sound like an adventure but I agree with Night that you do need to have chocolate and string.
The good thing is that if it were me and my friends gone to study none of us has a mobile so wed be stuck ALL night.
hehe :) the prof came to our rescue a couple of minutes after my last post :)
what do you do with the string when you're locked in?
I have no idea, actually. It just seems very handy and MacGyver-ish.
If this is really live, somebody shold say hubba ..no ..yabadabadoooo
true, is it?

I browsed through your Cindarella thread and found it very interesting. I learned something similar in a seminar on English Fairy Tales once.
I'll read it the posts and join the discussion when I've got more time :)
