Update: Somebody other than Sancho won the Powerball. So much for 4-11-44, a poor man’s remedy.
And so much for Rock-N-Roll. How about some sweet soul music from one of the originals?

Papaya! We need to share iPod playlists.
Anybody listen to Pandora Radio? I don’t know how they do it, but they keep finding stuff I like, or maybe they just know that I’ve been down and out on a Greyhound Bus:
John Prine covers Blaze Foley’s Clay Pigeons
http://youtu.be/ju9hiiHCf6s
I liked Mark’s selection too. And since I’m pretty sure Mark will hate the above tune, how about a little more Soul Music?
Chaka Khan, Tell Me Something Good
http://youtu.be/cm_cFzVAoo8
8/10 for Chaka Khan
Warning the video contains nudity. Viewers discretion is advised.

or something more funky and with lyrics:

Dude, right?

I love me some pandora, my stations are a little chaotic.
Sigur Ros was a little to not very good for me.
Earth, Wind, and Fire on the other hand is always fun 8/10

Street music - yeah baby!
Pretty good tune too. I liked that song a lot the first six or seven hundred times I heard it.
8/10
Whoops, I went a little negative there, eh? Must be the 'Michael Bolton' effect.
Anyhoo... Anybody in a Dead-Head kind of a mood?
This one goes along with our discussion over on Mick's guns-n-ammo thread:
Dupree's Diamond Blues
Went down to the jewelry store packing a gun
Sez, wrap it up, I think I'll take this one
A thousand dollars please, the jewelry man said
Dupree said, I'll pay this one off to you in lead
http://youtu.be/A_Ed9FSussg
and it's no wonder your reason goes bad
- jelly role will drive you stone mad -
I have a complicated relationship with The Dead but I dig this song 8/10
I heard this song a couple mornings ago and I can't get it out of my head:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvZeYDBY4fw
It's a pleasant enough song, but it doesn't really go anywhere, 7/10.
I can't think of anything to post, so here's some autotuned drag queens:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0kqo...ature=youtu.be
Well... Highly entertaining video, amusing lyrics, but the song itself is kind of dreadful (or amazing, dependant on affinity for auto-tuned pop). 3/10 for me.
From one of music's coolest... A little strange, this song, though this might make me love it all the more...

I didn't understand a word that she said, but I kinda knew what she was saying, if you know what I mean. Anyway I'm familiar with that look and I get that tone all the time. So there you go.
9/10, heh heh, go baby.
So now that we've covered an angry-woman tune, how about some Milf rock? These guys are from around where I live. I don't think they're playing anymore, and I'm not quite sure what the motorcycles are all about, but you can definitely hear a North Georgia accent on this song.
Second Flat, Cigar Store Indians
http://youtu.be/0vJNjW9szvQ
I like it, 8.5/10
You may need pink champagne for this one:

I'm gonna go with an 8 outta 10. That tune floored me the first time I heard it. I didn't think you could do that sort of thing in rock-n-roll. And that's coming from a guy who has always preferred amped, slightly out of tune, roadhouse rock to so-called rock operas. Minus two only because I've heard it too many times. And I still don't know what "scaramooch scaramooch will you do the fandango" means.
Anyway, I'm digging Papaya's Bobby Darin tune too. In fact, a couple of days ago on another thread, Pendragon and I wrote Mack the Knife into our Private Eye story as a character. Ah, but then yesterday I killed him with a Chinese Throwing Star. These things happen, you know.
So then, I hear this guy is HUGE in France:
Slim Whitman, Rose Marie

Sancho Panza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, your avatar has to be the best (not to mention the cutest) representation of Cervantes' masterpiece.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAVn71rNImI
I don't think it is humanly possible for anyone who loves Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to not shed a tear at this song. Even though this version of the song is potentially the worst.
Thanks, man! I'm still tilting at windmills (and probably always will be).
As for the tune - I like it. 8.26/10 I've never watched the show, though.
Here's a show tune from my era: http://youtu.be/cEaRCAcfOEQ
BTW, just wrote him into our Private Eye story over on another thread.
Can't go wrong with Isaac Hayes. Sadly, the extent to which my generation is privy to this man's brilliance is reduced to his voice acting role as the character "Chef" in South Park. 9/10

The late, great, musical potentate: Nujabes. :D

Hard to argue with Anthrax. 8/10
I once saw this singer described as an 'effervescent songbird', but I try not to hold that against her.

The video is truly bizarre but the song is a solid 7/10.

I think I'd like driving to that, but it's a bit sleepy for me. 6/10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1NGE16Bt48
Seemed like too much a novelty act for me, but I did listen to it all the way through which counts for something. 6/10
Don't you pimp out my heart, don't you pimp out my heart...
Bit romantic isn't it? Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just for me. And mountain goats really are very unimpressed creatures. 6.5/10
We were all buried there, buried under the soil of Canada...
I really like that. I love the juxtaposition of really angry and violent lyrics with such cheery, energetic music. ;) 8.5/10
I work with one year olds, some are closer to that one year mark and others are closer, or at, the 2 year mark and they absolutely love this song. As soon as I put it in the cd player, all activity, even the fighting, stops and they just start dancing.

Why is this thread lagging so much? Come on, litnet.
That's a good song. 8.5/10
Let's get something with an historical background up in here. This song is about a Finnish sniper named Simo Häyhä. He had one year of state-mandated military training and was living as a farmer when the Soviets invaded Finland during the Winter War, so he grabbed his modified Mosin–Nagant and headed into the woods with one day's worth of supplies every day for 100 days and killed every Soviet that came into his kill zone. He has the most confirmed kills in any major war at 505, which he accomplished in an extraordinarily brief span of time, WITHOUT using a scope (he didn't want the glare to give him away). The Soviets mounted several missions just to take out this one guy but couldn't, and because of this, plus his white camouflage, they called him "The White Death."

8/10. Nice song. Nice band. Their songs are lyrically pretty awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNA7nA5aqHM
This song isn't really about all that much, but it's the first song that came to my head for some odd reason, so rate away!
I really liked that, I'm going to look into that band. 9/10
Here's Rush singing about the storming of the Bastille.
Ooh, there's stained velvet, dirty lace,
Naked fear on every face.
See them bow their heads to die
As we would bow as they rode by.
I love Rush. Hear the echoes of the centuries, power isn't all that money buys!
I do like Rush. 8.5/10
I heard this on the radio this morning, I forgot all about this song:

A fair assessment, I'd say :D
