Yeah, I like animals. Normal house pets are cool, but I love and plan to eventually get a koatimundi. I have sugar gliders already. My favorite is the red fox. I would love to have on as a pet.

Did you know that if a cat ingests ibuprofen, it's lethal? My husband dropped an ibuprofen the other morning and he was looking around for it and the cat leaped over in the general area of where my husband thought he dropped the ibuprofen and started eating something. My husband couldn't find the ibuprofen and assumed that the cat ate the pill (would a cat even eat a whole ibuprofen?)
Anyway, he called the vet and asked what would happen to the cat if she did in fact eat the ibuprofen and they told him the cat would die. So, he starts looking around for the ibuprofen hoping that maybe he overlooked it and he did. If it doesn't fall into his outstretched hands.... :D
So, our cat is not dead. ****sigh of relief****
Well, that IS a relief!!
yes it is.
We bought her all these toys and she plays with trash. I got the gift wrap out so I could wrap presents and she got into the curling ribbon and ate some. She likes to chew on dental floss picks and plastic. She likes to burrow in plastic bags. But she is not at all interested in the cat tent or the balls and feather things we bought in the pet aisle. Weird cat.
My goldfish is old now and I think he's dying. :(
This is an old picture of him.
I can't remember the exact date, but I bought him from a pet store earlier this year. He was very little and I like to feed him a lot. Thus, his fat figure. :)
A friend of mine one time said that I purposely fatten him up with the intention of cooking him up when he was big enough to be eaten..:D
My fish died yesterday. When I got home from work, I saw his home but he was not there. My mother said he died earlier yesterday in the afternoon..:(
I'm sorry, sub...I know that must've been a bummer.
Aw, sorry about that. It hurts to lose a pet.
Regarding the ibuprofen, I gave my dog Nicky one a long time ago (he was old and arthritic) and he vomited a bloody discharge and the vet said to never give animals ibuprofen. Just plain aspirin is ok though, like the 81mg dose. Nicky was a good dog, he was 17 when he died.
Well, how much can you trust your mother? . . . I mean, you didn't actually see the body, right? Do you know how tempting a nice, big, fat goldfish can be?

Yeah, don't upgrade to a cat, or a dog . . . :D That would be a true tragedy. ;)
No wonder she never allowed me to have something more than a fish....
Now, the secret have been revealed...
It's interesting that I should come across this post, as just the other day my brother-in-law was telling me about a show he watched on the Discovery Channel. The new king of the jungle is the Liger--a cross between a siberian tiger and a lion. The cat was monsterous--approximately three times the size of the siberian tiger!
(Just circulating about dispensing tidbits from my PEZ dispenser of knowledge. :p )
Sorry to hear about your goldfish buddy Sub. :( Hope ur doin okay.
It is strange how attached we get to our pets, isn't it. I have two cats right now, Ringo and Pica, and they are my boys. I don't know what I'm going to do when I lose them.
You are correct Autumngal. The Liger is gigantic!!! But aren't they usually born sterile? Or am I thinking of a Tigon? (The liger sire being the Lion and the tigon sire being the tiger.)
I think the only dogs my family raised during my lifetime were dobermans and one daschund. I don't know why. I think they are my dad's favorite, although that breed has grown near my heart too.

Sleepywitch,
Sloths are cool:thumbs_up I just wish I hadn't seen a sloth get picked off by an eagle, carried off to the nest, and eaten alive. It was horrible.
Is that your Doberman, ktd?
No, I gleaned this pic from the internet. But you can image the same image with a white strip running down his chest, that's my dog.
newest addition to the family...named Pearl by my five year old son..she kept me awake all last night, but now she sleeps, just like human infant!
