So you had a movie night with a classic. Last night I had a date with a classic too. I watched the first episode of "Airwolf" (a classical TV series of the 80s) which reminded me of a good time of my childhood. Back then, when I was a kid, it was broadcasted here on Saturday nights and I had never seen these episodes since then. Now I'm getting the whole seasons on DVD, which is the best option always, especially with classics hardly ever broadcasted nowadays :DQuote:

But seriously, I need to write up about 10 movies I have seen lately which were truly great. Right now I am watching this cool documentary on James Dean, directed by Robert Altman. Funny, I picked this cheap DVD up a long time ago, for a dollar, and it's really good. The-made-for-TV film, preceeding the documentary, was fairly good, but dated; but this b/w documentary is truly intriguing. What prompted all this was my recent viewing of East of Eden. It was incredible; ever see the film? I will get to writing them up next week. I am still not caught up on some very important email replies, which have to come first.

There really are a lot of open-ended shows of recent and they tend to leave a person with an uneasy feeling...they can be unsettling when watched right before bedtime, even sort of disturbing. I find I wake up thinking about the meaning of the ending. Those type endings are great and real and all but sometimes happy ending are more satisfying.Quote:

Airwolf - I never heard of it and I used to watch films and TV shows with my son from that era. It's so cool how we can get the old series on DVD's now. I buy the ones I really loved as a kid or the older films I liked in the 70, 80's, 90's. I watched House on the DVD set from my library since I don't have cable upstairs. I was curious to see what everyone was raving about. I did find it entertaining since I like Hugh Laurie. I also watched his family series in Britian of 40 Something. It too was great fun. Oh, yes um. He's my favorite actor. I collect all his films and his screenplay books and anything else I can locate. I also have a channel page on Youtube dedicated to him but with playlists encompassing a lot more. Shackleton is a must-see. It's an amazing story and totally true.
