8/10 love this

I get that - Especially every time he sings "across 110th street".

While we're into soundtracks...
RocknRolla - I'm a man by Black strobe
Like it: 6/10.

I'm sorry Scher, but that's horrible. Is it supposed to sound like that, or is the video a bit duff? 2/10

Dylan with a twist... I like it
7/10
Oasis - Stop crying your heart out
Eh: 4/10.
To honour return of the rain:

I wish it would... I wish it would. That's a sweet song, a bit too sweet for my taste (right now).

The next song had a wonderful live-version on youtube, but I can't find it now. So here's the album version.
Life is a lemon and I want my Money Back
5.5 /10 Meatloaf is alright..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-QdY2BJ0Xo !
When I saw the album cover I didn't think that I would like it. I was pleasantly surprised. 7/10
This song has been stuck in my head on and off for about eighteen years:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyl5Mwr84MA
I always thought the government thought we were retarded or something. This one is better than the house hippo ad at least. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that there isn't a Canadian between the ages of 20-30 that doesn't have that horrible song memorized. 10/10
The extended version is hilarious too, they explicitly state poison could make you sick, in case you didn't know.
The Knife - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6EFLk1O0Yo
The stuff of nightmares! If someone had shown that to me as a child, I'd never have put anything in my mouth ever again, including food. As music, it cannot deserve any form of rating - n/10
This, on the other hand, is wonderful. It isn't my favourite version, but it's the best I could find:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w90jpyjsaLs
@Pip: Holy crap. I'm blown away. That was fantastic, the video and the song were really up there with the best I've ever seen. Thanks for that. 10/10
Haha, It's not my song, but I've got to put this up for the non-Canadians to see. That house hippo was on tv every like, ten or fifteen minutes in the 90's:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBfi8OEz0rA
@Loka: Opera isn't my stylebut I can appreciate her voice. 7/10 from me, but I'm sure I'd rate it higher if I were more familiar with the medium.
Do yourself a favour and this video if you havn't already:

I think that's going to give me nightmares, 8/10.
Here's some more Canadian TV nostalgia, oh NFB where would we be without you using tax payer dollars to produce mediocre cartoons.

Another thing I will have to do before I die: "Waltz with a log driver!" 3/10.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6tV11acSRk
I like. 5/10
This guy never disappointments me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc7ZR4DpPlg
Not my favorite by him 6.5/10
Now this is another story:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN86d...eature=related
One of my first "favorite songs," used to listen to it on 8-track. 8/10
It's not going to stop 'till you wise up.
Tuneful but tiresome. 4/10
Not quite the deity she's made out to be, but pretty good nevertheless.
I love Joni, at least I can rely on her being the only famous Canadian singer that isn't a national embarrassment. 9/10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHFUXH4PP5c
Don't know what to make of that really: 3/10.
I need to cheer up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za05H...eature=related
Love it! I've always had a soft spot for ABBA. 9/10
Well, everyone knows Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah, but I actually think this is at least as good, if not actually better...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfpVq4rPfQg
Seek professional help, I implore you.
I think she lacks the necessary weary gravitas. She makes it anguished when it ought to be resigned. 5/10
I'm fond of Cale's version - though even he says the 'yous' as 'you' most of the time, and half the trick of this song is to get away with 'yer' without sounding mannered.
Why would anyone seek professional help for having great taste in music???
They should only offer help for those who cannot appreciate ABBA!You know when I clicked on the link, I went off to another page without watching the video and I thought, "Hey, this is good..." Then, I went back to the youtube page and saw the haircut.Quote:

He looks like Gary Oldman in "Fifth Element":

Blondie had their moments, and this is not one of them. There are few musical genres more limp than white kids poppifying bad reggae. 2/10
This is rather better.
That sounds like out of a bad musical: 1/10!

Po-faced, self-regarding, melodramatic tossers whose every breath is a waste of oxygen that could be better used lighting a cigarette. Not that I've given it much thought. 1/10
Uncharacteristically poppy song from under the Westway.
Well, they should keep away from poppy songs. They sound like highschool bands: 2/10.

Can't deny the guy's influence, but my feeling is that he didn't do anything worthwhile after 1958. The whole Vegas period, quite apart from being the antithesis of everything rock'n'roll was about, would have been an embarrassment except for the fact that it revealed him for what he really was: a corporate entertainer whose natural consistuency was trade conventions and tupperware parties. 2/10
Who can watch this without dying a little inside?
Unlike you, I was not around till much later so cannot compare his work before and after 1958 but I love his voice; would be happy to listen to him if he sang out the MacDonald's menu: 6/10!

I shall take that into account next time we discuss a book published before 1980.
I think he'd be more likely to order it than sing it.
Lavigne: not sufficiently significant to merit a lot of thought. Perfectly good teen pop. 5/10
One for boysenberry jam fans....
Not sure to be flattered or offended but I will go with the realistic option: I am offended!!!
Like it... I think: 7/10.Quote:

Sigh... there is a definite tendency among some modern musicians to think that wittering into a microphone in a bored fashion is somehow more 'significant' than actually singing. I love voices: be they big, sorrowful, energetic, or whatever... this just lacks anything. 2/10.
Something a little out of my usual comfort zone, but that I rather like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-64CaD8GXw
All sound and fury signifying nothing whatsoever.
Why doesn't somebody post a song with great lyrics and a melodious voice to go with it? Take this one for example.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnYA0w4cWiE
I sort of did with Schubert's Gretchen am Spinnrade earlier on - variety is the spice of life, my friend!
Excuse the double-post, but what the hell is that, Brian? It sounds like an elderly stroke victim clinging desperately onto his death-bed! I'm all for the spiritual dimension, but that just sounds embarassing... 0/10.
The first thing I clicked on to get away from THAT thing:

Song doesn't do much for me, 5/10
