If you were leaving and could only take 1 book on a trip, what would it be?

That´s a difficult question... I think it depends on the place I´m going to. If it happens to be a cruise, I would carry a book about travels, such as Marco Polo, Benjamin de Tudela (a Spanish jewish who in the 12th century went to the Middle East), some Spanish conqueror in the New World or even Herodoto.

Cool. But they are hard to get hold of. I had to pay £50 ($120ish) for a second hand edition as they are out of print, but if you can get hold of a copy then wow...

I think that Moby Dick would be great on a cruise. That or The Old Man and The Sea if you want something that'll take up less of your time.

I get distracted by video games, internet, and my girlfriend. So even if I have time to read, it isn't Walden.

I'd probably take The Picture of Dorian Gray too.

I'd take a book I haven't read yet.

The Brothers Karamazov, because it is so long and so many different events happen throughout. It would keep you pretty busy for a long trip
