Other than that I usually have to find time to sleep during the day (I have a period of 2 hours inbetween classes where I normally sleep) so I end up with 4 or 5 hours of sleep in a day usually and on weekends, usually more. People always think I'm afraid of the dark or night when I explain this, but actually that is my favorite part of the day, I prefer it I'm not scared of the night just sleeping during it.
I think this fear developed when I was around 14 and as far as I can tell I think most of it came from that time when I had an obsession with dying, and just the association with sleep and death and lying there in a dark room and going to sleep, scared the hell out of me. I am getting better, not falling asleep but usually I can stay asleep or have a bit more of a sound sleep if I can manage to fall asleep.
