Ah! You're getting better Nyu! love her! Wish could draw as good as you!
Haha, thanks, I think it's the best line work I have done so far digitally. You can be as good as you want, the thing is just to keep practicing and learning. xP
yes! I will...working with it is a challenge, but still always fun. :D And working with a laptop instead of a mouse is even harder! But I'm gradually getting better...now if I could stop making them look so tense!
You should just buy a Wacom tablet. :P There are some at low price and Christmas is cuming, maybe there will be some special! ; )
Very nice drawing Nyu
Thanks.
How long take you to model a structure? (Without painting).
Depends on the polygon count. The most complicated ones i made in this series are the Byzantine, and those took me around 2 hours for each give or take.
But ussually i just make a model in half an hour. But i have been using Bryce for 3 years, and am quite familiar with it by now :)
Texturing them doesnt take any extra time, since i already have applied the texture before sculpting the model.
The following work was introduced in a separate Thanksgiving well wishes thread accompanied by a droll storyline, a smattering of links, a Hooters image, a Ben Franklin quote and a wonderful piece by Antonin Dvořák.
I wanted to take this opportunity to share the painting on its own merit minus the superfluous baggage of nonsense. I have also included a little on the process and materials/ tools used to create Ben and Franklin.

The saga of Ben and Franklin began last year with a simple graphite and charcoal sketch. Ben and Franklin represent the anthropomorphic embodiment of Tony Randall and Jack Klugman from the “Odd Couple” American TV show.

Following is a work in progress photo.
Much of the graphite layout sketch is visible. I used a relatively hard “3H” lead.
The initial foundation washes have been established on the walls, floor and shelves along with the beginnings of random detail work.

Gilliatt is quite a gifted artist. I've always longed for that kind of talent, but I suppose we don't always get what we want, because somebody else already took it http://smiles.kolobok.us/personal/hi.gif
Yes, I agree Max! And even if it turns on, it won't be automatically good. You have to work on it. :D It will always take effort.
Thank you for the encouragement, Beaut http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/friends.gif Encouragement is either very touching or I'm getting old too fast http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/cray2.gif http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/dntknw.gif
:p
 Of course its because It's touching!
Time to revive this :)

pencil + photoshop
oldie but goodie
It sure is a goodie. I like! Oh, If I had photoshop! Nice Job Weltanschauung!
there is a program called gimp (lol, but seriously), which is public domain. it pretty much has all the basic photoshop possibiliites, and you get to play with a bunch of stuff when youre bored. here's the link http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
you can even google for instructions on topics, and you'll find a bunch of hints.
Thanks!
Neat creation, welt. It looks much symmetric.
well, thank you sir!
non-symmetrically-photoshopically speaking:

That's absolute awesomeness http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/agree.gif and it should be framed and exhibited in a gallery http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/yes3.gif
Wow! I love those ones too! The first because of the details! Very nice. i like the second one because it almost....gives off a cloudy feeling which can lead to a dreamy feeling. Haha. Now i feel weird saying that. Anyways, they're both nice pieces, Weltanschauung.
Interesting Picture Weltanschauung. This seems to have the feeling as though the candle is dreaming of being a light. :p
http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/i-m_so_happy.gif I think the candle is in love with the light bulb, under the dream that one day the bulb will enter that pyramid where the candle is trapped, and therefore will set the candle free. The candle is dreaming of an illuminated future with the light bulb ... I'd better stop here before they send me to a madhouse http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/laugh2.gif
Here goes something coherent... welt is a great artist :)
