Now listen guys and listen well
For I have a tragic tale to tell
Our manly ways are in decline
Because we are forced to sit and dine
On packets which our wives unwrap
Tasteless junk and plastic crap
~
I ask you, does your woman cook?
Or more concerned with how she looks
And how much precious time it saves
By bunging it in the microwave
and sets before you her creation
A quivering plate of radiation
~
She’ll moan that when she is feeling fruity
That you can’t do your nightly duty
Or your pathetic performance is so poor
That you don’t love her anymore
But isn’t it any wonder that
Your libido’s less than a crippled gnat
~
Oh bring back those heady days of yore
When all our womenfolk knew the score
And fed us on roast beef and steak
Fish and Chips and currant cake
Then our randy thoughts we couldn’t hide
And all their wants where satisfied.

Nice to see some fresh comic verse on the site. "A quivering plate of radiation" had me in stitches. Keep up the great work! :)

Lol! Wondering what your wife would think about this poem.

She would probably try to fit something very personal into the meat grinder. But no she is an excellent cook she makes, among other dishes, a variety of soups that are fit for the gods.
But this little poem is meant as a fun read, nothing more, is there any truth in the content? Yes, there is always a grain of truth in all humour.
Thanks for reading and kind comments, hope its brought a smile or two.
John.

A good poem.
There is a grain of truth in 'the way to a man's heart is through his stomach' ... no? ;)

Let me make a suggestion to those who may be inclined to clutch pearls at Bowler's poem. Why not write a (poetic) response? Something along the lines of: make your own damn dinner! And while you're at it, make mine! Virtue signaling is easy (read: excruciatingly boring). Creativity is fun. So let's hear it. :)

Being that cooking is not my favorite sport, I actually laffed at how well put John's poem really is. Beautiful job. No pearl clutching here, lol! ;)

Nice sounding poem. For what it's worth we now use a toaster oven rather than a microwave with its quivering radiation.
