Hello! I am not a regular here but figured you all are the people to ask! I'm trying to recommend a fiction book to my friend who is a lab researcher and it is killing me that I can't remember the name of it--or hardly anything about it at all. I am convinced based on what I do remember, however, that he should read it. So here goes:
- I read it 8-12 years ago.
- It was about scientific researchers who were actively conducting research of a groundbreaking, medical nature.
- I remember that there were more than one research group and that these groups of researchers were vying to publish their findings first...which were so groundbreaking that they would essentially become famous overnight (in the scientific field, at least).
- One group published first and had an error or some major flaws in their research which amounted to a professional disaster/total loss of credibility.
Are you awake?! Ok, clearly not the most riveting subject matter for a work of fiction, but I liked it and it is so relevant to my friend's career. (I've asked my most bookwormy friends and they have no idea/got too bored with the subject matter to care.) Anyone out there remember coming across this book??
Much appreciation in advance for even trying,
Sasha
