My opinion on the proles, is very much similar to Winston's. I think the power lies all in the proles due to the lack of surveillance. They have no tele screens watching their every move and are not giving the time of day from the inner party. I think they should realize the power they have over the government and due something to change it! They may not have the military weapons to do so but they sure have the numbers. If they were to organize some form of rebellion i think they could get somewhere.

It is obvious that the proles are the most enabled group to force a revolution although, just because they have the numbers doesn't mean they have much of anything else. The proles are extremely uneducated and what they do "know" is mostly inaccurate. Not only is there the education issue, but why would they want to change the way things are? The proles think that life is fine, not worse or better than what it was in the past. As long as they've got their booze and their lotto, they're set.

The proles do have power.. but since they're apart of the lower class, they are unable to express it. Also, everyone in the Prole section seems oblivious and only fight over things that matter to them, like pots and pans. But yea, I think you're right about some rebellion. But could they pull it off without Big Brother interfering?
