Long forgotten in the lore of time
Stood a moment in the comfort of the bosom
When a face beamed, seized by the sun;
Having eyes like umbrellas that opened and closed,
Like that of a deity looking through the love of one.
And perhaps once recalled when eye met eye,
You could feel the impenetrable warmth
Of the tender walk of time;
Its role from generation on
To the weathered valley where the body laid to rest
In the obligatory grave.
Stood a moment in the comfort of the bosom
When a face beamed, seized by the sun;
Having eyes like umbrellas that opened and closed,
Like that of a deity looking through the love of one.
And perhaps once recalled when eye met eye,
You could feel the impenetrable warmth
Of the tender walk of time;
Its role from generation on
To the weathered valley where the body laid to rest
In the obligatory grave.
