Having difficulty finding literary criticism of the Scarlet Letter that I can cite that will support my thesis (even short quotations).
My thesis is: Through the characters of Hester, Pearl and Dimmesdale, Hawthorne reveals that identity evolves through internal suffering, and that once one's identity has been constructed it cannot be redefined.
Please do not make comments that would influence me for this paper, just help me find the citations, locations of literary criticism essays.
I appreciate any help you are able to provide- I think I've looked everywhere, but if it exists I have faith that you can help me locate it.
Thanks!!!
