I am not sure if anyone is taking part in Movember (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movember) but I thought we should dedicate the last weekend of November to this! :D

I have been sporting a mustache for almost a month as have many at university, and to be honest mustache's are far to beautiful to have been killed by the 90's.

This, from the same source, is perhaps more significant and might explain some of the bizarre posts that have appeared on the forum in recent times.
Marijuana Use Causes Brain Damage Confirmed.

I've had a mouchtache for years, until I decided to try it without again. My wife gently suggested that I re-grow it as I have no chin apparently. I wasn't too botheres as it saves shaving hassle.
In my office my colleague has grown a Movember mouchtache. It has made him look more edgy. After he'd grown it a few people said to me - "Oh - you've got one too." Mine is ginger and grey - which says a lot for my skin tones.

I suffer the same malady as Paul.
The best I can do is a 5 o'clock shadow, which only makes a lack of definition look dirty.

"... no chin apparently". I never thought of you as a chinless wonder. Whatever would Dennis Skinner say?

I'm fully-bearded at the moment, though I'm thinking of getting rid of it - not because of Movember, but just because I'm getting bored of it. I'm very inconstant to my facial hair.

Having a moustache/beard takes away the attention from the rest of your face. My hubby has one all around his mouth kind of If he trims it too far he looks like a fat hooligan. Typically the kind of Englishman who is very annoying on holiday and wears a Man U or Chelsea shirt everywhere. Preferably shaven head or near that. He looks much better with his beard.
Sarah Millican (or however you spell that) suggested Fanuary. Shall we do that too :D.
I've always found big whiskers nice to look at. I mean everything from Bradley Wiggins to Victorian. Victorian men must have looked like tom cats or something. I don't know, a purring sound always comes to mind when I see that kind of photo.

I you had actually read the article you would have seen that it concludes that Marijuana creates no recognizable brain damage in adults with developed brains (18+)
But it creates recognizable brain damage in minors because the brain membrane is not yet fully developed, which is also why alcohol is also outlawed to minors.

Ok, a little off topic, but I always wonder how that so-called brain damage can be explained or to what it really amounts if you know that before the 20th century there was virtually nothing safe and drinkable apart from alcohol. Or in small amount, because it was a lot of effort. The human population was not retarded, unintelligent, mad or any bit different from humans now, although they drank from a very young age. Putting babies' dummies in whiskey to make them sleep was still customary in the 70s. None of those people seem to be worse off in the brain department.
Sorry, rant over. :D

The beard is gone, and I'm clean-shaven for the first time in months. It feels rather good, actually.

You underestimate me because I did read the article and at no point does it absolve 18+ users from the alleged damage. What it does say is that it damages the grey brain matter in minors but that it also damages the white matter in those who are regular users:
After measuring changes to the volume, strength and integrity of white matter in the brains of all participants, researchers found that long-term heavy cannabis users had disruptions in their white matter fibers.
The brain's white matter is responsible for information passed between different areas of grey matter within the nervous system, and unlike grey matter, which are the brain's thinking areas that peaks at age eight, white matter continues to develop as people age.
Seal and his team found that there was more than 80 percent reduction of white matter in the brains of users.

How about Don Quixote who, at least by Gustave Dore's interpretation, sported a rather robust mustache:

Oh come on Emil...
They preformed an experiment comparing those who had used ganja for 15 plus years and those who had never tried it. And... I will just quote the article: "additionally, researchers found that the average age of participants in the study started using cannabis when they were 16 years old, participants who started using the drug at a younger age like 10 or 11 had even more severe brain damage."
Now we can agree that the age of 16 is that of a minor, can we not?
The experiment just reinforces what has been long know in the scientific community; Marijuana abuse in minors causes harm just as with alcohol because the membrane is not fully developed and thus such substances when abused directly interfere with brain development as the membrane is only fully developed at around 18-20.
Napoleons advice is only effective if one has a lack of knowledge and information, which thanks to the internet, can only be accounted to laziness or stupidity.
Besides Obama and Clinton seem to be perfectly functioning individuals...

Sorry I accidentally omitted the word abuse. Alcohol in moderate doses not likely harm minors, it is only when alcohol is used for the express purpose of attainting drunkenness that is causes damage. Much like fast food once in a while shall cause no harm to a child, but in excess can cripple him for life, refer to Honey Bu Bu.

Correction - mouchtache and chinbeard. The basic lazy shaver combo. I am blond - or rather the blond that has grey in it.

My boyfriend's nickname is "Captain Morgan" due to his wealth of facial hair and epic mustache. He did shave it off to start clean for Movember. Can't say I'm a fan of the "just-tache"... it makes him look like a pedophile.

But he did rubber stamp, at the behest of Goldman Sachs and others, the abandonment of the Glass Steagall Act that lead to the banking crisis and the biggest economic crash since 1929. And what about fallatio with Monica Lewinsky in the oval offce?
OK we're all guilty of fellatio but few of us add insult to injury by playing the saxophone, even though it's a giant leap forward from strumming an electric guitar.
