I'm trying to find some books that are similar to the Terry Gilliam film 'Brazil'.

For those that haven't seen it it's a darkly comical dystopian satire.

Any suggestions?

'Brave New World' written by Aldous Huxley.
If you like 'Brazil' you might as well have watched 'Bladerunner' wich was made after the novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K. Dick.

I'll give Brave New World a go. Thank you.

I've tried reading some of Dick's work before but I couldn't get into it. It might be worth another shot.

1984 Orwell - Gilliam based the film on this (though he hadn't read it!)

For similar UK dystopian themes try anything by John Wyndham or J.G. Ballard, or H.G. Wells' darker science fiction (Time Machine, War of the Worlds,..)
