He sat in his flat,
Composing his melodies in prose, poetry, formulae and symbols,
When one day,
"The Deluge" arrived unnoticed

It lasted for just 2 hours but seemed like "Eternity in 2 hours" (Apologies to Blake !)

He was washed away in a tide of memories
That spoke of past days,
Including the not so distant past
Filled with fond memories of near and dear ones
Of delightful conversations
Of temple lamps and incense
Of anticipation of making good the backlog of promises of his youth
Of dreams of travels and adventures
Of nameless anticipations crowding on one another
Of trying to strive and the feeling of failing
to meet some undefined standard
Of homecoming and rekindled hopes once again of making good
Again the feelings of dreams failing in many nameless yet perceptible ways
Like cracked Kaleidoscope

Also the far away feeling (like the hair rising / goose pimply sound of distant thunder or looking through a screen ) of similar days filled in a somewhat "indulgent" nostalgia for an even more distant past

But again, the faces stand out

Suddenly, he can almost see these figures standing (as also his heroes and heroines !!) in his balcony almost hologram-like against the cloth / curtain like screen running through out that section of the apartment complex

As if they were part of Santa Inc

posting letters and gifts in his post-bag stocking running tree like throughout the complex

Or as if it is a tree house
Is it a dream he wonders
Lo and behold, it is not

And tomorrow is another day !!

Again should be " posting letters and gifts in his post-bag stocking running tree like throughout that section of the apartment complex"

This was written in response to a 2 hour downpour yesterday

I think we all love those delightful overcast cloud-filled dry days when the weather is "heavenly" (I am reminded of Kalidasa's "Meghdoota") Wud love to write about that :-)
