Genesis chapters 1 & 2

(1)In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.(2) The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.

For a long time, I have found the first two chapters of chapter 1 to be very moving. The sheer imagery of it perhaps, is what I find to be so interesting. There is something profound and universal about it really. The creation is one of the main passages that I can read over and over and not get tired of. I know, I know, I should get more out of how to slaughter an ox according to the standards in Leviticus, but I digress.:smile5:

How about you?

Words, in general, are more powerful than we realize, as well as thoughts. Repeating words over and over again increase their power. That is the purpose behind mantra chanting or the rosary.

So if you have repeated these verses often, they should have a strong positive affect on you.

In the case of the first two verses, there is much alliteration which makes the sound of the verses attractive.

I think there is great beauty in the perfect marriage of form and substance. This is a section of Scripture that is speaking of strikingly unique and important events and it does with words both deep and simple. I know enough Hebrew to know it was carefully crafted in the original too.
