This peaceful autumn night

My dear,

Tonight, the moon is so bright
and I think of your broad smile!
The veil-like clouds floating slowly by are your silky long hair
spreading gracefully across the night sky,
hiding half of your elegant countenance,
and adding some mystique to your glamour.

You're so far away like the moon!
As pine for you,
I might as well watch your reflection in a water lily pond!
There, wearing some pink lilies in your hair,
you're charming as a princess from an ancient Arab palace!
How can I help myself!
I reach out my hand and touch your face,
but it gets blurry right away!

Alas! I guess I'd better sit quietly here and watch you
lying peaceful there,
as beautiful as this autumn night!

Almost reminiscent of the Siren calling, or the Loreley tempting mariners on the Rhine. As usual, delicate and elegant, and as ever, most enjoyable. If she exists, she is a lucky lady, and if she doesn't, it's about time she got her act together and looked a bit harder for you! Thanks, Ang.

It's pretty, as is typical of your poems Angliholic, but this one is a bit overly sugary if you ask me. Otherwise it's very well done. I'm not sure I like the the stars twinkling "like peeping Tom in the dark." I don't associate peeping Toms with a pleasant moment. Seems out of place.

I thought about "like peeping Tom in the dark" and wanted to remove it but kept forgetting. Now that you mentioned and I couldn't agree with you more!

As for the overly sugary, I never thought about it!
But thanks for your comment, I'll read it one more time to see if it's really so!
