there are some people who hold
a perverse, ancient ideology
that pain is erotic. This sage-like
wisdom can be found in the rituals
of tribesmen, who incorporate
lashings and skin burning into their
mystical dances.

Afterwards, they retire to their tents
and to their women in a sexually
enlightened state.

The people of the tribes have been doing this
for centuries, learning from the elders
and the gods of the mind.

I like how you structurally create your poems, as in the first stanza.

Some may feel this is not a "poem", because it seems more like a narrative. I however, like its experimental quality. (If I may claim that it is experimental.)

Yes thank you Jersea. I think poetry is more to do with the flow of the language than with the structure. I love prose poetry because it allows you more freedom to play around with word order so that you can get it perfect. Thanks for your compliment

Thank you for saying the flow of the language is more important than structure. I agree. I love how you have your sentence end in the middle of the line.

Of course I like this poem and I cannot say exactly why I like it and what elements this poem it contains. I find this very experimental or it tries to dig up the truth, the primal that remained buried and the beauty of the poem is really matchless.

At times we like a particular poem and we like it without understanding the meaning of it and even we fail or cannot interpret it, and of course both the professor and the student can enjoy a particular poem even if the latter is less proficient or less equipped with the technical part of the poem.

I like the poem and I read and reread it and until I assimilated it

Interesting poem. As you said, the great thing about prose poetry is that you have free reign to use the best utterance possible and say precisely what you want without any elegant strait-jacket of form.
:D

I agree with your sentiment: this whole "pain is erotic" thing... sadomasochism... I never understood it. It's a pathology.
