I've been reading this forum for a while and thought it was time to contribute. I'm from the UK, and passionate about literature, like so many here. My favourite authors would include Dostoyevsky, Proust, Tolstoy, Nabokov, Joyce, Camus, Kafka, Naguib Mahfouz, Borges, Eliot, Flaubert and many more besides. I love the classics, especially those that deal with the human condition, existentialism; realist and modernist fiction. I also have an interest in Arabic literature too which I am starting to pursue. I do tend to read a lot, and I'm always on the lookout for more authors and books that would suit my tastes. I'd have to credit Roald Dahl for being the author who made me fall in love with reading all those years ago (I'm now 31)

First I want to welcome you!!! Your range of interest in books of classic and the ones you mentioned are the ones that interest me too. Dostoevsky is all time my favorite and Kafka is another favorite I cannot forget. Tolstoy, Nabokov, Arabic are some of the ones I get never get tired of reading. Joyce has been always unreadable to me for I never could comprehend his Ulysses though I have gone through his Dubliners. Proust is a writer I like to read but I have no copy of him.
