Parting Time

I’ve anticipated for this to come
The parting of the heart
The silence of the mind.

Utter not a word of defense
Dismayed with your imperfection
You’ve tarnish my pure intention.

I’ve given my soul
I’ve offered my all
I was left with nothing but you.

But as we part
In silence and tears
I’d rather leave without saying goodbye.

It's very simple, almost artless, but it does capture the pain of breaking of. I might suggest adding more context and maybe being a little less direct. There has been so much poetry written about breaking up that when I try to write poetry about it I either descend into obscure metaphors or digressions about things that typically aren't associated with breakups.
