So let's just rate how your day went from 1 to 10
mine was a 9...just boredness in some areas ticked off a point.

9/10. Hung out with my best friend for the first time in like a month, talked music.
Slept in super late - a rarity
had honey on toast and have been very, very lazy.

0/10 and I'm not sure why, but maybe that's the problem... for today, bitter shades of morning melancholy obscured my vision and life seemed so much more tragic than I could ever have imagined... celing fans and sorrows, are the only moments I dream...

i'm tired and want to go to sleep, but i think i should wait because i don't know when i'll wake up...and that's bad for me since i wouldn't be able to sleep later on tonight....and i hate setting my alarm clock...i will start using it again come school time...

I'd rate the day 7/10. Spent a wonderful weekend with my oldest daughter who I don't get to see often enough. On Sat. we attended a baby shower for one of her closest friends and then on Sun., we just lazed around, actually it was most of the day. Went out and had a nice dinner with her and then it was time for a trip back to the train station. It's just never enough time to catch up on all the things we want to.

8/10 Ridiculously hot, got free tickets to the baseball game. Had a few bud lights. Came home cooked steak hung out with family. Pretty decent.

You are talking about Oxford, Georgia, right? Not Oxford, Georgia, you Spoooooooky!
I was talking about Oxford Street, London:
Oxford Street is one and a half miles end to end. Most shops open 10am until 6 or 7pm. Some open Sunday 12 to 6pm with late nights on Thursday. Oxford Street is best known for Selfridges and the other big department stores which are all found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus, along with most of the big-name multinationals. It's more of the same as you continue towards Tottenham Court Road, but generally on a smaller scale. Oxford Street is said to be the busiest shopping street in Europe.http://www.streetsensation.co.uk/oxford/os_intro.htm

We had our first choir practise with me as the choir leader. The university wouldn't give us any room with a piano, so we had to make do with a tuning fork. Most of our singers have disapperad after we moved to Helsinki or were otherwise occupied, so there was only five of us today, one of whom was new and had never sung those songs before. We have two performances in a month, and I'm not sure how we'll manage to get our programme in a working order.
Argh. You know, I'm pretty sure one could start as a choir leader with fewer obstacles to overcome...

Started out awful. Roommate woke me up an hour early by being loud and had a surprise Calculus quiz.
But then after lunch, I found out another test I have has been pushed back by three weeks, found some good sources for a paper I'm writing and most importantly got a 100% on my swim test (jumping "without hesitation" from a 10 meter platform into a pool).
So, right now, it's all good.

Splendid.
I finally remembered to return that DVD to the video shop this morning, so even though it cost me 8 euros I felt like a weight was lifted off my chest. That DVD has been torturing my sleep, haunting my dreams, for four entire days and nights; and yet I kept waking up meaning to put it in my briefcase, but never did - until this day. Funny how good that made me feel. Incidentally, I find the girl who works there in the mornings rather agreeable, despite the fact she insists on wearing those cheap flip-flops.
Seriously, you can take this to the bank:
I later witnessed a man who jumped off the roof of the one and only skyscraper in Athens, and he started flying in ever-decreasing circles until he disappeared into his own rectum.
I'm in love with this girl, Alexia, and her graduation day is approaching, and I booked flights to go and see her in a mortarboard, and I arranged it so we fly back home together. She seemed pleased. Hell, if that doesn't scare her, nothing will.
At the office projects progressed, others were delivered, some were confirmed and yet others were envisioned. Revenue was generated and expenses were met. Visits to the bathroom averaged 1.36 per person.
The evening is about to be rounded off with scotch number three and some roast pork that might just get up on the fridge shelf and sing "Baby it's cold outside" if it's not consumed soon.
Best regards to all.

I spent the day in phone talking to old people who couldn't hear very well, trying to find out if they got their meals delivered or not and why that might be.
Me: "According to this list it seems you didn't get your meal yesterday. Is that correct?"
An old person: "What did you say? I can't hear you."
Me: "DID YOU GET YOUR MEAL YESTERDAY?"
The old person: "Yesterday? I can't remember yesterday..."
Trying to find out if the code to open the door to the stairway was changed or not was a nightmare... Many didn't even know whether there was one.
And then on my way home I looked out from the window of the train and saw some people (from fire department) picking up dark red pieces and collecting them on plastic bags. When I got home and checked the news I found out they were remains of a person who was hit by a train :eek2: :(

So far my day has been shocking, I had to visit the dentist, from which I detest. I find childbirth easier (no - really). Half an hour of grinding then he charges me $170.00 dollars and to top that off, he tells me I may need crowns in 3 of my teeth and each crown costs $1,300.00 dollars. :argue: I can't have coffee for a few hours and it's only 9.45am.. My day today was really challenging with lots of responsibility. As I am a banker, too many clients are crowding my place. I consider then Gods and try to treat them as my best guests. But at times it is hard to deal with so many customers at the same time, but this is something really interesting for at least I never got bored, though a little bit hectic moments I had. This kind of challenge makes one all the stronger. I indeed feel proud at the fact that they are too much concerned about what I said and every word me counts and has some values. Feeling like this I feel recharged with energies and refreshed

My day today has been a little bit wearisome; I woke up before dawn and did my morning chores and went out for a morning walk and then I went to a training center and had to take classes there and then home to have a brunch; then again I rushed to my office. I had no time for reading, at least to complete the book I have started, a very fat book, the Brothers Karamazov. I do not like hectic or busy schedules, meetings, conferences, deadlines, assignments after assignments, stampeded life with too many burdens and accountabilities. Not that I am lazy and wants to stay idle. No. I am a hard worker indeed, but I choose to do things of creativity and do not want to engage in the same mechanic or robotic jobs from morning to evening, the same monotony and repetitiveness all the time. I want change, change in my working environment, and let my jobs make me ponder over things and that is why I am oftentimes a good teacher for as a teacher I am at liberty to teach but in the office I must submit to my authorities. Of course I am also an authority but there are higher authorities and I have to yield to them and accomplish the assignments assigned to me everyday and if I do not do I will be reprimanded or reproached and they become very hard on me. Of course one needs a career and without this it is very hard to carry life. I grew up in a very simple agrarian community and everything was easy there and I have little accountabilities there; there were not swanky or arrogant or supercilious people there. People are not snobbish there. We had simple works and as a kid I had to take cattle to graze in the steppe. Days were full of play and nights with good sleeps and I feel nostalgic about them.
In fact today I have all these thoughts and I feel today on account of the burden of responsibility on my shoulder and some nostalgic feelings weighing down heavily on me I had no good day at all

I had a very bad day today. I worked in the office and I did not want to do but against the will. I wanted to sleep and dream. At times I get fed up with the realities or wakefulness and I want to get lost in a world of fantasies where there are different realities, not these eastern or western values, manners and mores.
I could be happier in the wilderness and I am in society against my motives. I feel stressful when I get compelled to behave meeting all the expectations of others.

In fact I had a wonderful day today with unusual and uncommon experiences; for I was lost in a world that has a different cultural setup, where the people live with different values and beliefs; where people are in close proximity with nature. If you look superficially form the outside with all your prejudices, learning, knowledge and experiences or with a preoccupied mind you will pity them, for they had lived boisterously in a wild and innate world. In fact there can be no comparisons between what happen there and the world we live in. They are capable of withstanding natural environments. Of course they do not live longer compared with the urbane and of course the people who live on medicines. They live under natural care and in their case time and nature is a great healer.
This has occupied my mind and my day has really been euphoric today

I had a good day today: I woke before sunrise as I do every day. I am retired so I don't have a job, but I work nonetheless at various chores--most of which I actually enjoy--such as chopping wood. I finished reading Dostoevsky's The Gambler and continued reading George Eliot's Adam Bede. I wrote a little on a short story that I've been working on for a while. I listened to some music: J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.2 and Harpsichord Concerto No.5. On a scale of 10, I would rate my day 9.

12-15-2009, 06:05 AM
My day was good; in fact I had moments of rapture! I woke up quite early and took a prolonged morning walk and I was rather in a euphoric mood and what got me this is not answerable. It happens but without anticipation involuntarily and spontaneously, for things happen as they do and man has at times no roles in all that happens. I cannot be happy thru efforts always and thru efforts I may be unhappy and effortlessly I can be over the moon. The world is a mystery and we cannot always explain why things happen as they do. Why we become happy suddenly and unhappy even if I make mechanic efforts to be happy. This world is really inexplicable and everything is mystifying.
Of course such thoughts I had and in fact I was thrilled thinking along such points.

It was relatively uneventful and quite enjoyable. On my way home today there was this odd little man, he looked like 5'1'', in a cowboy hat with a CD player who was dancing around and singing in the metro as I waited for my bus. Odd things like that usually cheer me up. The ride home on the bus was kinda spoiled when half way home some scummy teenagers got on and sat next to me, they stunk of menthol cigs. The worst smell in the world, I don't know why people smoke them, the already repugnant smell of cigarettes doesn't really need that cloying smell added to it. On top of it they were boys, I felt like telling them that only middle aged hookers smoke menthols.

My day's pretty good, so far. I just got some stuff in the mail that I ordered that I wanted to try. First thing I had was marmite, which I have mixed feelings about; it's not bad tasting--actually, I kind of like the taste--but it's just so STRONG! Next time I try eating it on something, I'll try to spread it a little thinner.
The other thing I got was a box of Lapsang Souchong tea. This I actually really like! It's got this nice, pleasant smoky flavour to it, and it's tea, which I've taken a liking to drinking in recent months.
