Okay, enough fooling around. I'm going to Mexico this April. I spent five months there last year, and I want to go back for a month. I'm not particular as to where, but the pacific coast is nice, might try that. Any takers. I'll buy the first20 rounds......
Tell me when and where and I'll buy the next 20 rounds.

Jungle boat ride! (outboard ride through mangrove tunnel to wetlands wildlife wilderness of San Blas, with a crystal-clear freshwater pool for swimming at the end.)
Rent apartment for $50US per week in town.
Plates of boiled camarones (shrimp) at palapa lean-to restaurants on the beach, washed down with inexpensive Pacifico beer.
Look up San Blas on a map: little town midway between Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan, straight downhill from Tepic. It's like dying and going to gringo heaven.

Mexico in April would be nice though I just did Vegas last month and don't anticipate taking another vacation that soon. Would be nice if a few could get together - take lots of pictures and imbibe in much alcoholic beverages with little umbrellas in them.

Sleeping arrangements in San Blas Mexico, Darlin? There is a simple solution to such a dilema: If a crowd shows up, the bathtub is a bed, the floor is a bed, and so forth, but usually one just strings up another hammock..........a single hammock... or not.........and beds are usually capable of holding more than one body.........many bodies actually.....

I recall seeing people sleeping in hammocks strung between palm trees on the beach in San Blas. But there might be one drawback. At certain unpredictable times of the year, jejenes are a problem outdoors. Like Alaskan no-seeums, jejenes are tiny biting gnats and you don't feel the bites until the next day. Then your skin itches like you had a case of poison ivy.

Tea Tree Oil! 3 magic words! take a bottle of that and if you put some on before you go out not even fleas or fireants will bite you.
put it on once youve been bitten and although not instant relief its very very good and quick.
The one word of warning is it stinks!
Tee trea oil doesn't stink! It smells nice.

Tea tree oil is for preventing/treating skin infections and irritations, it's not an insect repellent. According to a Mexico travel website I found, the only thing that repels jejenes is Pennyroyal oil (which of course you can't find in Mexico.) Off/Deet isn't effective against jejenes.

No tea tree oil IS an insect repellent the best there is its just that its really much tooexpensive to be used on a regular basis unles like my baby sister you have a terrible allergy to anything that bites from mosqitos to fleas to ants to those nasty horrible little flies whose english name I dont know.

Whats so special about Stafford, who wants to se the potteries anyway.... oh wait the dylexia strike again... sTRATford.... humm shaky's home town?? how about whats it called home of the Brontes or Manchester Elizabth Gaskells house is museum... its pink :eek2: the bus I was one drove past it a couple of weeks go turns out its just round the corner ( and 20 minutes off from me)
Voted 'Best Visitor Attraction' in the 2006 Godiva Awards is the [Stratford Town Walk] and Stratford Town Ghost Walk. Stratford Town Walk offer a guided public walk every day of the year - even Christmas Day - to see the Shakespeare Town Houses, Grammar School, Theatres and Holy Trinity Church. The guides entertain and inform with lots of information that you could never discover from a guide book. A must, if visiting Stratford with a couple of hours to spare. In the evening on Mon, Thurs and Fri there is a spooky ghost walk around the historic streets to hear grisly stories of ghosts, witches, murder and mayhem. Be afraid, very afraid. The guides are professional magicians and members of Equity. Monthly ghost cruises take place in partnership with Bancroft Cruises from April to October. Entertainment with a difference.
Six kilometres away is Charlecote Park, an historic house set in a deer park, from where Shakespeare reputedly poached deer.
Eight miles away is Ragley Hall, one of England's finest stately homes and home to the Jerwood Sculpture Park.
The town had a publicly-funded art gallery, The Gallery, but this was closed in 2004.
The influx of tourists into Stratford has caused tension with residents for decades, and there are perennial complaints about numerous tour buses clogging certain roads in the town.
There are plans to refurbish the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and to build offices and flats on the defunct cattle market next to the railway station.
Each year on or about Michaelmas Day Stratford hosts one of the largest Mop Fairs in the country
ok why not sounds like fun!:D

Pensy, true they can have 'a mind of their own' sort of like computers:crash: ...BUT.... MY magic carpet is a special one - very sturdy - and equiped with steering and other high tech equipment (do use your imagination!). It is a lovely Persian carpet and wonderfully soft to glide along the heavenly realms of soft fluffy clouds (those clouds also will keep us airborn). What a spectacular view we will have of the entire world and the stars and planets, too. We can wave to all our friends on Lit Net, as we sail by their repective countries, on the upper atmospheric vapours or purest blue. Dream, dream, dream and we will be fine and safe, too! The carpet is the place to meet. Anyway, most of us already have our minds high in the clouds - don't we? It won't take much to get us airborn!

I am glad you do. It seems several of you have found a new interest in reading Lawrence. I am glad I have been influencing your all in that respect. Still I do know how busy we all are, most definitely, including myself! I have slowed up some, but now that you mentioned it - I am also reading TTLH and the Oscar Wilde stories. I only read one, so far - 'Devoted Friend' - but the others I have read years ago and know pretty well.
