Just a bit of fun.

Life On A String
Marionette jiggling
from nose to toes
Pinocchio, Pinocchia,
the Gepetto God reeled
when I pleased him but
just one kink and
it was off with my
Chakra which never
was the la dolce vida
Chocolate promised so
I moved to Phoenix
with a stage hand to live
in a third floor walk-up
but my ribbons
only dangled to
the second string
fiddle I never
learned to play
crazy

This felt, to me, like it was teetering on fun and the dark reality of ... well, life, and the betrayals and disappointments we sometimes face within it. Even at the beginning of the poem, however, there's not much lightness - puppets as a subject, unless they're muppets, always unnerve me, being hollow, empty, allowing themselves to be controlled. The stark, familiar reality of the Pheonix bit brought out that eerie, helpless detachment I feel more, too. Poor lady, rough life.
Solid poem, very cool. Eee.

Hi Wisp! Sorry this poem didn't tickle you. It really was intended as a bit of fun. Guess my sense of humour runs to the darker side?

Somehow I overlooked this earlier but yes, even gallows humour can be fun or funny and this is.
Did you know that they're working on Chakra replacement surgery?

Where can I sign up? (not for the gallows, for the Chakra replacement)
