This also is a poem I posted on another forum.

I was looking through some old paperwork recently and discovered this poem.

I wrote it while on a 45 minute train trip, about a girl at the other end of the carriage. We were looking, glancing at each other frequently, and something struck me about her fair beauty.

Of skin so fresh and fair,
& pale as the perfect hue
reflecting the beauty of air
a gift given only to few

Her gaze it wanders here and there
but to whomever it may look
You are now blessed and without care
for you have entered the book

And for one man this gift bestowed
should surely be a crime
no selfish brute could thus restore
your beauty with his rhyme,

No. left her on the train.
a peice of me was with her
to time I herby place the blame
when cross the train was with her.

I wrote rough planning and then transcribed a clean copy to give to this angel when I departed the train.

I didnt write my name or number on the peice of paper, and never will I know her reaction when she read it.

She may have scrunched it up and thrown it out.

The poem has the charm of immediacy and so does the story of how you came to write it, wrote out a clean copy and handed it to her without any prompting to call you. You conjecture that she might just have scrunched it up and thrownit away - but surely you entertained another fantasy, that she was moved and wanted to get to know you better but you had disembarked & the train pulled away...
