i have been turning over in my head the possible categrys for works such as the handmaids tale or brave new world and i came up with topos visionary. topos for either dys or u-topiatic and visionary because it is a vison of the future. What do you think. Is this accurate.:alien:

What are you asking exactly? Topos?

As for the Handmaid's tale, it seems Atwood's vision is not the future, as, I see it, the Sex-Positive feminists seem to have won, to a significant extent, warranting more a middle-ground where Atwood's unlikely vision (sex positive feminism I would argue was already winning in 1985) is somewhat dated. The book itself seems to be political propaganda used as backing for the sex-positive side of the argument.

As for Brave New World, I hate to say, but I confess to not having read the book Cover to Cover (though I have read parts of it). Huxley's book though, seems to be more applicable today than Atwood's. I say this, not saying his radical ideas are wrong, but his concepts on sexuality, and birth control seem rather ingenious, when thinking them over.
