The empty bus seat next to me
reminds me of how we used to be.
You used to sit there, day after day,
but now you've moved so far away.
People, houses, seasons change;
but one thing remains the same.
My love for you,
it remains pure, remains true.
I feel lost and alone,
even when another places themselves on that empty seat,
whether it be old acquaintance or friend I'm yet to meet,
it just isn't right.
I stay up late at night,
thinking of the day you'll be back.
Others have doubted it,
but I know that it's a fact.
You will be here
and no longer will I have to fear
that empty bus seat.
Well, this is just something I created in my head one morning on the bus. Inspired by a real person, the person I love, who really did move really far away.... I'm not in any way a good poet, but I thought I'd post it anyways!! :)

I'm going to tell you the same thing I just told Prince for his poem: Thank you for this. I know it hurts to miss someone you love.

even when another places themselves on that empty seat,
whether it be old acquaintance or friend I'm yet to meet,
are you sure that you love that person if you allow someone else take that person's place?

Guess you interpreted it differently to how I meant. And yes I'm sure I love him.

it just isn't right. I think if you read that bit as a whole, it sounds kind of different. Its about how even though other people sit there (the bus is that crowded you don't have a choice but to let them sit) it just isn't the same, even though there is someone there, it still doesn't feel like there is, because it isn't him. I hope that makes sense :)
Thanks for your comments, Sweets and Anatoliy :)

Yes it makes sense except that there are times when love appears to be the sworn enemy of sense or "love" and "sense" don't seem to be part of he same language.

Don't we all have that empty seat, on a bus, in a theater, at home, somewhere! :thumbs_up

Love and sense almost certainly speak different languages, after all, they do inhabit different places.
