So, I hit 8/10 on my pool. Best move was going with Marion Cotilard for Best Actress in "La Vie en Rose"; worst was going for broke with "No Country for Old Men" for the Cinematography award ("There Will Be Blood" won).
The only other real surprise was Tilda Swinton's Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Michael Clayton"; I'd have put some big money on Amy Ryan in poor "Gone Baby Gone" (I'll say it again; best movie you haven't seen).
Otherwise, I won with:
BEST: Actor (Day-Lewis put down the performance of the decade...AT LEAST), Actress (haven't even seen "La Vie en Rose", but bios are Academy favorites), Supp. Actor (BIIIIIG surprise with Javier Bardem's magnum opus, huh? Yeah, right...), Director(s) (Coens, finally!), Picture (No Brainer w/ 'No Country", Original Composition ("That guy is SO arrogant..." hilarious, yet still a rather glorious moment), Orig. Screenplay (at least "Juno" got something; especially good screenply from an ex-stripper:)), Adapted Screenplay (the obvious choice was again "No Country", which won, but my dark horse was "...Blood")
And, again, lost with:
BEST: Supp. Actress, Cinematography
Jon Stewart's monlogue was rather hilarious as well. The ceremony as a whole was a bit of a bore...SO many montages...
