My first post and this forum is amazing :) ill pass it on to other people.

I need help...:)

"Shakespeare's play were written for this stage, but there is also a sense in which they were written by the stage"

QUESTION: How can hamlet be understood as a product of the context in which it was first performed.

this is broken down to the physical theatrical elements which constrains the play write/actor, the religious/political implications the royal family imposes and what the audience wants and needs.

the bulk part of my theatrical restrictions is the opening seen of the play where they say it is dark, tis cold etc, which is quite boring.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

Try checking out the commentary on the site Hamlet Regained, especially the scenes with the play within a play, the closet scene, etc.
