What is the difference between a geek, a nerd and a dork, and which is worse. In the hierarchy of geeks nerds and dorks?* (in no particular order), where does geek fall?

Niamh

I would have put it in the order you have it. geeks being the ultimate, and dorks just being the lowest goofiest of them all.

Greetings Bakiryu!
This is a hot thread.Quite stimulating and noteworthy to have you whose knowledge is wide.My question is-If you get hell from someone, what would you do?

ignore them, they'll get bored. If that doesn't work retaliate secretly and evilly!

Dear Baki. I'm going to a New Years party where I'll hate most of the other guests. Should I wear one of those pointing hats and blow one of those party blow toys and make believe I'm having fun or should I just sit in the corner ad watch the New Year ring in and mumble under my breath what jerks are around me? :D

If you try to have fun you'll actually have it V! I'm usually dragged of to parties where I hate most people and time does past slower when i sit in a corner and read, but if i try to have fun and cheer, everything goes by faster.

Also, it'll annoy those who don't want you to have a good time :D

Should I use tofu and milk in my berry smoothies or just use soy milk?

well, i think it would depend on want kind of consistency you want. Milk would be more fluid and tofu sort of smoother. It also depends on taste, which do you like best? You could also make one with milk and one with milk and tofu and enjoy and share!

Dear wise and wonderful Baki... Some random number sent me a very obscene and offensive text messgage a week or so ago. I have no idea who it is, but when my dad rang the number, it sounded like a teenage male. We didn't find out who they are, and so my dad sent them a text telling them to not do it again etc. Many of my friends were convinced it was just a spam text, but then a few days ago whoever it is tried calling me (I missed the call.). Now, should I just try ignoring it still? They've really gotten to me and I was really scared for a while... So is there anything I should do apart from ignore them?

Be careful, whoever got your number probably knows who you are and even more info. Try being extra-careful at home (try not to ever be alone and lock everything carefully) and at school too. It's probably some idiot pranking you but you can't never be too safe. If they call you again try tracing them and if that doesn't work, change your number. Better safe than sorry!

Thank you. I have one friend who has like everyone's numbers so I'll ask her if she knows who it is, if not then I really have no idea who it might be. I was contemplating changing my number, and that was before they called! but I've grown so used to it over the years!...

Anywho, thank you for the advice :)

I still feel like a noob sometimes and I've been here almost a year :p.

Well... I don't have many questions to ask, but I've just ordered some books yesterday, and then later realised that there was yet another book that I wanted, by the same author of the other books I ordered. Should I try and convince my dad to get that one too this afternoon, or wait a while like until after I recieve the other books?

Depends, if you do it for no reason then do the following.

Materials

mirror
face
hands
salt

Stand in front of mirror with salted hands and *****-slap yourself for being a bonehead.

Drama captain will always sound cooler. You can also get a cape and pretend to be a superhero. Can you do that as media captain? nooooooooo. :D

If you got your head knocked in such a fashion that the eyeball popped out of the socket, but was still attached to the optical nerve, would you be able to see forward and down/sideways (or whatever way the ball was looking) at the same time? Or would your brain not be able to comprehend that and just shut down the visual section? How about if you closed the eye still in your head?

I think you still would be able to see (if ALL the nerves were attached) but you would most likely A) tear something and be unable to see B) pass out c)suffer incredible pain + eye dryness. Which would prevent you from seeing.

Well, not really. it looks a bit odd. I think wink-sexiness depends also on face shape (go practice in front of a mirror!).

What is immitation leather made of?

Usually plastic, pleather, vinyl or pcv.

According to wiki: "Sometimes referred to as poromerics, poromeric imitation leathers are a group of synthetic 'breathable' leather substitutes made from a plastic coating (usually a polyurethane) on a fibrous base layer (typically a polyester)."

Four adorable little black kittens are hiding out in my backyard with their mommy. I've been leaving a bowl of water out as well as bread crumbs. I think you should try to find homes for the kitties, maybe your friends, teachers or asorbted relatives.

If you can't them try to help them outside before turning them into the humane society since it's very unlikely they'll find a home :(

Bakiryu, I have seen this thread and have attempted to post many times, but changed my mind. Though now as a New Years Resolution, I am going to just take a plunge when I want to do something. I was wondering if you could help me, dear Bakiryu.

I have just completed a Children's novel this year and it is currently going through the family rounds of editing. It is a very personal novel and even though I have wanted so badly, to get it published, now that I am weeks away from sending it off to publishers I feel a little uneasy and don't really want it published... Sounds silly ha? But true. What should I do?

Well, I am glad that you finally decided to ask me for advice, I'll try my utmost to do my best!

In my opinion you should look over your novel. Why are you dubious about it? Think of the time spent creating it, and the effort and feelings that went into it. How do you feel about it?

I understand that sometimes it's difficult to take the plunge and take action. The fear of rejection is there clouding our minds. But if you truly love your work and think others should have a chance to read it, jump in!

Sure, things may happen, your novel might not be published or do well in the market. But how do you know if you don't try? If you worked hard to create it and finnish it, then, why shouldn't someone else be able to enjoy it?

Shalom, Ryu.

Thanks for your reply Bakiryu. But I am sorry, I may not have explained myself well. But I am not afraid of rejection as it has happened so many times before with short novels. The problem I am having is my connection with the novel. It is actually based on actual events that have happened in my life, but names and certain events were changed and exageratted to sound a little more exciting. So it is now a fiction. The question I should have asked is how can I seperate the emotional side of myself from it? Let it go... So the speak.
