Tailor, man, what is this? An more universal than Whitman epic? Relationship Orient-Occident throughout the ages? Why isn't this poem more famous?
Two references that particularly caught my attention.
The overall reference to the oracle I Ching, The Book of Changes. And the border reference (X) to the Sugar Loaf. Brasil somehow at the edge of the occidental sphere.

Thanks for the analysis it enriches the reading of the poem. I have lived in a kitch myself, but here in a region of many contrasts. The apartments are in their majority small, but one has a lot of facilities: food places, laundromats, drugstores at ones door, also theaters and movie theaters, museums, gyms all at the door. And buses and tube to everywhere. Overall there is a certain bohemian atmosphere here. One lives here by choice and that is not the case of Gwendolyn Brooks' poem.

Enjoyed this poem with the weather so full of change as here. We say that São Paulo can have all the four stations on the same day.And sometimes it differs from place to place.

I don't know. There's very little information about her and I found only this one poem that seems not to be contemporary.

Marvelous poem of homage to Q E II. I've seen most, if not all, of a dramatization of her life and was, unfortunately, distracted by her consort who played Doctor Who prior to this role... so much for typecasting. My Mother adored Q E II - her regent. Enjoyed.

I liked Elisabeth II. Possibly one of the last great monarchs.
Enjoyed the poem, the whole story is told by the reactions of the environment. The link didn't work but found the poem here:https://www.poeticous.com/madison-cawein/the-feud-rocks-trees-and-rocks-and-down-a-mossy-stone?locale=en
