"a collective hunch," said Lily Tomlin.
To start off what I hope will become a chain of responses, I will say
Reality is...anything but what you think it is!
reality is uncertain....I think?

reality is uncertain....I think?
Indeed.
I think, therefore I am.
Descartes
I think, therefore I am Descartes.
Newman
I think I am Descartes, therefore I am mad!

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. Einstein
Reality is just too much for me. Me

Reality is the space/time between subatomic particles.

Reality can be beaten with enough imagination.
There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other. (Douglas Everett).

Reality is nothing but the nightmare of an evil maniac in a tower.

Reality is.... Something I try to escape from when I find it necessary. There is a reason I like to both write and read science fiction. Fantasy is much more fun some days;)

Reality is the incomplete map carried in the minds of all of us.

To me, reality seems like an enemy of a dream which only sometimes befriends it. But mostly they can't live that way and have to strongly differ from each other which causes huge quarrels.

Interesting and provocative thought. Thank you.
that feeble, flickering,
merest pin-point of light
being buffeted by the broad
shoulders of gravity
as it struggles to reach us
from the furthest imaginable
star, dead so long ago
that you and I will never
have been dead that long!

Actively imagining accentuates eventual creation. Observe the active metaphor of Stephen Hawking and his radiation.
Once imagined,
reality steps slowly forward
like children in a school play.
We watch, each our own,
as the children move,
at first unsure and alone
in the magnificence
of their own space/time,
imagining we are watching.
Again, Stevens: Like rubies reddened by rubies reddening.

Reality is...
What has happened...
what is happening...
and what will happen.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Everything else is just an excuse.

As I just commented to another poster, of this entry: "That man, in my opinion, couldn't fart without creating poetry!"
(PLEASE, do not attempt to prove me wrong - or right!)

Reality is perception so perception is reality. It's the thing that most wars are made of.

Very true! I would hope the more we come to realize the power of thought and belief, the more care we will take with both.
I have had a vision for years of the next great evolutionary leap of human kind being to what I see as Homo Sapiens Pax, where we have mastered the greatest tool of all, our minds.

Reality is the self-deluding pornographic website; antagonistic to what is actually real.

One of the greatest things about being human is eternal hope. Surely we'll get there.

Homo Sapiens Pax
I've done that for years too - imagine where next in our adaptive struggle but I usually end up with Homo Sapiens Etiam? I keep thinking that thinking and reasonable behavior are perhaps not our evolutionary strong points.

Reality is a book spread open on a wide,
windswept field, where the pages
are blown past
faster than you can read them.
It is the one thing
you haven’t grasped
when you have taken everything else
into account.
It is the blockbuster hit
of this long, long summer
of our lives.

There are the things we have access to, and those we don't.
Reality is what you have, what will always welcolme you with a friendly hug
Cherish it, and put the rest to sleep,
For it might come back to you in your most beautiful dreams.
