Hey, I hope you can shed some light upon the next question:

Jerry Cruncher wanders every night through London graveyards, and it is mentioned that he stops by a doctor´s after he has finished his morbid gatherings. It is not clear enough, not even hinted, but I believe he excises human organs from the corpses to sell them to that misterious doctor. Am I right? Where can I find a more detalied account of such wicked practice, if at all common back in those days?

Yes, in those day there was a common practise to take bodies and sell them to doctors, more specifically medical profesoors. Read Robert Louis Stevenson's Body-Snatcher for more info.

He also calls himself a "Resurection Man". In the cliffnotes to my version, it even mentions it specifically.
