Your lies are breaking my heart
Your backstabbing, back-tracking, trash talking ways
Screaming for attention in a silent manipulation
Candy coated strychnine words
Venom is dripping
From poisonous lips
And I can't cover my ears
and I feel like a pawn
as I try to run
From you as you play your games
There's bile in my throat
When you slander my name
Simply for telling the truth
And this anger that burns
in the pit of my stomach
As you slip from the deceiver's noose
Your tongue has corrupted you
your person, your life
Is itself set on fire by hell
what a wicked weapon
you wield against me
one you conceal so well
And I can't be your hero
As you kill yourself
Drowning in seas of your lies
And your untamed tongue
is choking you still
It breaks my heart when you lie

Wrote this awhile ago about someone and how lies do so much damage including to the person telling them. I posted it b/c for about the last two months someone has been falsely accusing me of lying, and about the stupidest thing and . . . I just thought it was ironic (?) that they would think I'm lying when I feel strongly enough about it to write a bloody poem! Those of you familiar with the Bible should be able to see I pulled a large portion of my inspiration from there too . . .
